After I packed my things and said my good-byes, I got into a super nice car. I sat all the way in the back next to Vikk and Preston, Jerome, Rob, and Mitch sat in the row closer to the front, and one of their supervisors (Idk) drove, with Lachy beside him. "So are you excited?" Preston asks. "You have no idea." I tell him with a little laugh. He gives me a light chuckle back. The rest of the car ride was silent- but we were there after 15 minutes.

"I'll show Alanah her room," Lachlan states, as he pulls me up the stairs, holding my hand. When we get up there it's a very simple, hardwood flooring with white walls, A dresser, nightstand, and desk. I'm way to flabbergasted to say anything. "I know it's not much but-" Lachlan starts, but before he can finish, I cut him off with a warm hug. "It's perfect." I tell him, with honesty. After a couple seconds of hugging I let go and look up at him with such admiration. He smiles back a friendly smile. "Thank you, Lachlan." I say. He just looks at me with a big ol' toothy grin, to which I smile back, of course. I decide to hop on his back and yell, "ONWARD, YOUNG LACHY BOY!" And with that, he runs downstairs.
"I see you two are gettin' comfy," Preston says, wiggling his eyebrows. Rob elbows him, trying not to laugh a little. "Well of course, he is my race horse." I say with pride, and everyone laughs, including me. "Okay, now, rules are simple- don't break them," Rob starts, "you have to be in bed by, 11 and no dating anybody from the pack." He finishes. "but daaaad!" Vikk whines and everyone laughs. Rob rolls his eyes, "don't push me, son." He adds. Everyone laughs harder. After everyone calms down I let him know, "I won't break your rules." He smiles at me happily. "Okay, I'm going to film with Jerome." Rob says and walks off. Preston's editing, along with Lachlan, and Mitch is somewhere upstairs. now it's just me and Vikk. "I'm going over to my girlfriend's house, okay?" I nod. Okay, now it's just me I guess. I decide to go upstairs to my room. Once I'm there, I realize I haven't unpacked, so I get down to it.
Once I'm almost done, Mitch walks in and lays down on my bed. He just lays there, silently and smiling. "Hello?" I ask, while laughing a bit. "Hi." He answers. I move my suitcase off the bed and sit down by his legs. "Whatcha doin' homeslice?" I ask, and he returns with, "Just thinking." "about?" I ask. "How amazing of a daughter you are," he replied. Daughter. Oh how that word stuck out. I guess I just sat there, because Mitch had asked if I was okay. I just nodded 'no'. Tears were threatening to spill and I had no idea why. What's wrong with me?He sat up and pulled me into the warmest hug I had ever felt. "What's wrong?" He asked in a soothing tone. "I don't know." I replied honestly. "Then I'll sit with you until you do know." He told me. Oh, how many times I've heard excuses for staying. But this one was different, I for once felt truly loved and understood when he said those words. I leaned into his shoulder, and just couldn't hold in the tears I didn't know were even there. "Hey, it's okay. I'll wait with you." He said lightly.
He laid me down, after I had knocked out cold from crying on his shoulder for no reason. I woke up to being in my new home with my new family. Oh how much I loved those words. I heard talking outside my closed door, so naturally, I got out of bed to hear it better. "I hope she's okay," somebody said. "me too." The next one said. "It'd break my heart to have her feel bad." The last one said.
I decided to get ready for the day. I was quite skinny, -not insanely skinny, but healthy skinny- since we never got big meals back at the orphanage.
I looked in the mirror, and saw a beautiful young girl. I was proud of how I looked. I didn't see anything wrong with me, but that's what I thought. I walked downstairs in my old ragged clothing. Preston looked over from the couch and signaled me to come sit next to him. So of course, I did. It was silent for a few minutes while the others were eating and we were sitting watching some sports channel. "You know, you can wear our merch, if you uh would like." He said, breaking the silence. "That'd be great," I told him. He led me to his room, first one on the right, and pulled out a little box of merch. He handed me a sweater and shirt and a long sleeve and a beanie. I thanked him and slipped the hoodie over my head while he put the box away. "What do you think?" I asked wiggling my eyebrows, jokingly. "I think you look great." He told me, and laughed at my eyebrows. "Thank you, my good sir." I said in a posh accent. He laughed a little, "The boys would love that fake accent of yours." He said chuckling and walking downstairs.
