After appearing on the radio show, I was able to respond to the Tumblr and Twitter questions about my presence on the show truthfully. I basically answered the question once on Tumblr and Twitter publically. I knew that this knowledge was useless now that I wasn't on the show anymore, or that I'd actually gone on the show and had myself introduced, but hopefully my words would explain things a little more.
I was too shy to go and meet Aled when he came in, plus, he seemed like he was in a rush so I didn't feel like I should bother him. But, as he was leaving, he stopped by my chair and gave me a little wave, mouthing hello to me as well. I was shocked, to say the least. I didn't listen to the radio very often, but I remembered Aled from Chris Moyles' breakfast show when that was still around. I'd listened to that whilst getting ready for sixth form in the mornings.
I can't really remember how I responded to Aled. I like to think that I too waved back at him and mouthed hi, but I probably just gaped at him as he left for his studio. My mind probably chose to forget an embarrassing memory of it. At least, that's what I hope happened.
Before I knew it, Phil and Dan were waving at the cameras, before the screens went blank like there had been a power cut. Then, the three of us were free to leave.
On the way back to their apartment (I still can't believe that I can say that so casually. I was going into their apartment! That place is like a home to me already, seeing as I'd seen so many videos of theirs taking place in there), we collected pizza and ice-cream to eat whilst we edited later on.
"Here we are," Dan sang as he led the way out of our taxi towards a simple whitewash building on a quiet London street. There were trees blooming in small gardens before each home, and building work maintenance going on with some homes in this new estate. Dan stole some of my bags from me to carry as well as his own before he started to walk up the path of one of these homes. The building he walked towards was dove grey in colour and very tall and thin, with modern looking windows and a simple black door. He and Phil had told me on the way over that they lived in the building with some other tenants seeing as this building was divided into different apartments. Dan and Phil had the middle apartment to the building,
Behind me, Phil paid the taxi driver before standing with me on the pavement and guiding me after Dan. Being here felt both wrong and right at the same time. Like I said, this apartment felt like a home to me even when I'd never actually been here before. Spending hours upon hours watching Dan and Phil's videos here made this place seem familiar enough so that I thought I could probably find my way around it without much guidance. But then again, it felt wrong to be here. It felt like I'd become the world's most successful stalker, which made me feel guilty even if that wasn't the reason I was here: to stalk them.
I can't think like this. I shouldn't be thinking like this. Dan and Phil invited me here. Just- just don't freak out.
Dan led Phil and me inside and up sets of stairs which wound back on themselves for a few floors before he stopped at a white door with a gold letterbox in it. Dan spread his arms wide as he gestured to their door. "I give you, the Dan and Phil household!"
"You're killing my inner fangirl here, you know that?" I said coyly.
Dan shrugged. "It's something I considered."
I giggled nervously as Phil shook his head at Dan. Phil then moved to unlock the door for us whilst Dan and I gathered up the bags. Phil and Dan led the way through into their home where my mind instantly threw me back to Dan's apartment tour video, urging me to hunt for any little view that I recognised from that, from YouNows or from other videos.
"Watch out for the glass door!" Dan called out to Phil, just before he walked into it.
"Um...ow!" Phil groaned as he rubbed his head, making his fringe spikey. I bit my lower lip to stop myself from laughing and I saw Dan bite down on his thumb next to me. With Phil still nursing his head and me and Dan choking on unshed laughter, we dragged the bags into the kitchen before opening the pizza boxes, leaving the ice-cream for when we were editing.
