"Be honest Violet. You still have some feelings for him..."I look to the floor, as if it was going to give me answers even though I knew it wasn't. "Maybe..."
Maybe...
A week later
I walked towards the lunch hall with Morgana as she rambled on about Jacob and their 'romantic' dinner on Saturday. To be honest, I can be a romantic smushy person when I want to be but that is not going to happen any time soon. Besides, guys and relationships are just a waste of my damn time. I yawned and covered my mouth as Morgana leaned against me while waiting in the queue, well I say queue but we are right at the front. Year 12's & 13's get to skip the queue for reasons unknown. Being older has it's perks.
Denise who works in the kitchen smiles at me as Morgana places her card into the machine. She and the other ladies have always been pleasant with me which I am thankful for.
"Hi Violet, you alright?" She asked with a small flash of her teeth that had clearly been whitened, I thought nothing of them but you can't really miss them when they are literally pearly white.
"Yeah, a little tired but I'm good. How are you? Enjoy the holidays?" I smile as place my card into the slot, tapping my pin in. We can use our own debit/credit cards if we want to but you normally have to ask the Principal for permission, he just says 'yeah kids, you do that but stay in school and keep those grades up' with that amazing Irish accent of his.
"Well, the mister and I went to Italy for 2 weeks. It was beautiful! We had such a lovely time thank you for asking. Is that all Violet?" Her burgundy eyebrow raised as the edges of her lips curve to a soft smile. I nod with a thank you before moving on to walk towards a seat with Morgana.
Unlike most schools, we have Seven really long benches that are a midnight black. The years mostly stick to a certain bench seems as there was one for each year. I held my salad box in my rather small hands as we walked towards the end, we had a little spot that had kind of been reserved for us by Morgana, I and a few others who I had been friends with since the beginning. I smiled as they waved over, I took a seat when I heard my name being called.
"Violet?"
I turned to find Adam McCoyn. He and I dated in my second year at the academy, I was nice then apparently but I told him everything,
What a fucking mistake.
I thought we really liked each other but his parents didn't like me. His parents wanted to know everything about me so Adam told them every single detail willingly. They didn't like me very much. Their words being "Unclean and troubled girl". Let's not even mention the fact that he had tried to cause me hell over and over again but I'd managed to put him in his place, he even got mad at me because I refused to kiss him. That was the icing on the cake.
I rolled my eyes as I leaned over to see him further down the bench, right in the middle. "What could you possibly want Adam?"
"A kiss perhaps?" He pushed up onto the bench and stood with his arms crossed, I raised an eyebrow as Casey told me not to go up. I sighed before standing on the bench, walking towards him with a fierce look in my eyes. The entire hall came to a halt as Adam and I stood face to face.
"You have no chance Adam."
"Shame. Really." I sighed deeply as I turned to walk back to my seat. "Still as frigid as you were 4 years ago Vi." I slowly turned around to see a smirk wiped across his face.
"Son of a bit-"
"Adam is it?" A deep voice cut me off behind me that made me frown as I turned to see who it was. Lucas. His hair was a shabby mess but it was...attractive with those dark eyes of his. Those eyes were narrowed on Adam before they met mine. I look bewildered as he put his arm around my waist slowly pushing my chest against his, my hands were on his chest ready to push away if he tried anything but I had a feeling he wouldn't.
