Chapter 19- "You don't know what game you're playing, and you don't know how to play it"

"See you tomorrow"? Vince asked.

I nodded and grabbed my backpack and got out of the truck.

I said "Yeah, Liz is coming over for dinner; so see you tomorrow".

"Ok, see you" They both said, and I ran up the driveway and to the front doors. I quickly unlocked it and walked in then shutting the door behind me.

"I'm home"! I yelled, and dropped my backpack, but there was silence. I walked into the kitchen and went to the fridge and grabbed a bottle of water out and saw a note.

Hey Rain,

We went out to grab some things and finished up our classes. We decided not to make dinner and go out since Dad has clients he's meeting anyways. Dress nicely and tell Liz too; meet you at Blue Gold.

I rolled my eyes and crumpled the piece of paper in my hand then throwing it in the garbage and texting Liz on to dress nicely and where we were going.

"Show me that you're human, and you won't break"! I sang and danced around my room as I got ready and my Gabrielle Aplin playlist played.

I walked up to my mirror and put in my silver dangling earrings and snapped them in and smoothed my clothes out in the mirror.

I was in a white crop top, with a black high-low skirt and a denim jacket with my curled lightly; if I dressed in 'nice jeans and a nice shirt' my dad would absolutely kill me.

I walked into my walk-in closet which was like another room, I scanned over the shelves and grabbed my Converses then thinking about how my dad had clients and then I put my converses back and grabbed a pair of black pumps.

I slipped my feet into them and stood up straight, then grabbing my phone and keys.

I walked out of the house and got into my truck, and drove out the driveway and headed to the warehouse to pick up to Liz; since I said I'd pick her up so she didn't have to drive.

I pushed the red-door open of the warehouse and walked in. I heard noises upstairs, and it sounded like Will and Peter chanting about something, and then I heard my name be yelled.

I walked up the old creaky metal stairs that were breaking. I walked to the main floor and stopped in front of the door.

"OHHHHH! YOU SO LIKE HER RYKER! DON'T EVEN DENY IT"! Neil yelled then laughing.

I hid behind the corner of the door and listened carefully.

Ryker likes someone?

I felt a pang in my chest, and my heart felt as if it broke.

"No I don't" Ryker's voice scoffed.

"Ok, you mean to tell us. That you don't like her? The girl that actually sets you in place and isn't afraid to stand up to you"? Peter's voice tested.

"Yes, because I don't"! Ryker's voice exclaimed with frustration.

"It's Rain for God sakes! You like her, and you know you do! You just don't want to admit because you don't want us to tell her"! Reece exclaimed with a laugh.

Me!?

My breath hitched and I froze in my place.

"If you don't like her? Then why did you keep looking at her the whole time while she had gym? Don't even acted like you weren't because I saw you. Your eyes were on her every second" Vince voice said and I could even feel his smirk.
