Chapter 40- "Smashing Possessions?"

We were sitting at the restaurant, and I rested my head on my palm as everyone was talking except Ryker and I.

I stirred my Soda with my straw and zoned off in my head. Ryker and I haven't spoken a word to each other, and the only thing he said was the question about the call my dad made to me.

"Right Rain"? Faith asked, making me snap out of reality. I blinked "Uh...yeah" I answered not knowing the question she asked.

Liz must have noticed I was off, and she put a hand to my back and asked in a whisper "Hey, what's wrong"?

I looked at her, and I held back the tears that were trying to escape me eyes "Everything" I said weakly.

She pursed her lips, and pulled me into a hug "It'll be okay, Rain". "That's what everyone says" I mumbled and pulled back then wiping the tears from me eyes again.

We walked out of the restaurant after an hour and a half. Faith, Will, and Peter all convinced everyone to go down to the beach.

I sat in the middle seat of some fancy sports car, and Neil got in next to me, Leah was in the passenger seat, Reece was driving.

Ryker then got in and sat down next to me. I tensed up, and shifted in my seat, leaning more towards Vince.

Reece sped off, and I bit my lip nervously as I sat between Neil and Ryker.

"No! It's not! Leah look at the fucking map"! Reece exclaimed, and I threw my head back in frustration.

Reece got us lost, and now Leah and Reece are arguing about the map. "Reece" I said angrily out of frustration "Let me drive".

"No! I know how to drive" He exclaimed then giving an accusing look to Leah "And if someone stopped arguing with me, I could"!

I rolled my eyes and when Leah and Reece went back to arguing, I walked over to the driver's side and climbed in through the window; one by one with my leg. "Get it" I snapped my fingers at Leah and Reece.

They sent each other a glare, then Leah got in the back and Reece got in the passenger seat. I turned the key, and started the engine up again.

I looked behind me to see if there was any cars and there wasn't. I stepped on the gas, and sped off.

I rested my head on my palm as my elbow rested on the window ledge. I kept one hand on the wheel and sped through the streets of Italy.

My eyes flickered up to the rear-view mirror to meet Ryker's. My eyes seemed to zoom in on his, and I couldn't look away.

Ryker looked away, making me turn my attention back to the road, so we wouldn't crash.

"RYKER"! A voice cheered, and I looked to see a girl with shoulder length dirty blond wavy hair. She had a skinny model fit tanned body.

She was in a blue bralette, and denim shorts. Ryker turned around and the girl ran up and hugged him. Ryker picked her up off the ground a bit and hugged her tightly.

"Oh my Gosh"! She said breathlessly, and I blinked slowly. Will and Reece came by each of my sides "Jealous"?

"No" I grumbled lying. They rolled their eyes at me, and Ryker put her down. I saw a group of people come up and Reece pulled me up.
