Chapter 3

Asami

After a day and a half has passed I finally know a way to get out of this place without me and Korra getting caught. I put on my mask and walks out of the office and goes to find the cell where Korra is kept. Two chi blockers are guarding the door so I go up to them and say "I'll take it from here, y'all may leave". They look at each other and walks away. I think of what state Korra might be in when I go inside. I open the door and there's barely any lighting in here cause there is only a dim single light bulb dangling from a long cord. When I look in front of me I see Korra bound to a wooden chair with her head hanging down. I look down at her blue tunic and see that it's burnt and tattered. "Korra?" There's no response, so I go to her slowly and says her name again. "If your here to torture me then just kill me cause I've had enough" she says. "Korra it's me" I say and takes off my mask. She looks up and stares at me. In the light her face is swollen and bruised and dry blood is on her bottom lip. "I don't know who you are" she says. "It's me...I'm the one who kidnapped you". She goes wide eyes and starts to panic. "Get away from me" she says and tries to break free. "Help! Someone plea..." I cover her mouth before she finishes. "Just hear me out okay?" she stares at me for a little while and nods and I take my hand away. "Listen I'm not here to torture you or anything, I'm here to help you get out of here". "Why? You sent me here and now you want to help me?" she says. "Look I know you hate me right now but I'm saving you before Amon takes your bending. So will you let me help you?" she just stares at me before answering. "Alright". I nod and unties her from the chair. I put on my mask and takes her arm and puts it over my shoulder and helps her up but stop when she winces. "What's wrong?" I ask setting her back down. "My sides...they hurt" I carefully pick up her shirt and gasps when both her sides are badly covered in bruises. "By the looks of it I think a few of your ribs are broken" she winces again. "You need to go to a hospital right away" "No don't take me to a hospital...please" I can see the look in her eyes that she doesn't want to go so I nod. "Alright let's get out of here" she nods and I help her up again slowly and we head out. Luckily it went just as planned and we head to the van. I help her get in the passenger side and buckle her up. I close the door and quickly goes to the drivers side and gets in. I start up the van and we drive away.

Korra is fast asleep when we arrive at my place. I carry her inside and close the door behind me with my foot. I go upstairs and lays her down on my bed. I go to the bathroom and gets the first aid kit. I also get a cup of water and a wash cloth and goes back to Korra. When I walk inside I see her start to stir from her slumber. "Mmm" she groans. "Hey" I sit in the chair by the side of the bed. She blinks open her eyes and looks at me. "Hey" she says. "I got a first aid kit and a cup of water. I was gonna just take off the blood from your lip and...you know what's gonna happen next" I can tell she knows what I meant and says "I don't even want to think about it". I laugh quietly and grabs the wash cloth and dips it in the water. "Okay hold still" I clean off the blood from her lip. She stares at me and I try not to pay attention but I stare back at her. It goes quiet for a couple of seconds and we don't make a move so I clear my throat and blush. "Um, I'm gonna have to pop your ribs back in place now" she snaps out of it and blushes as well. "Yeah...um...just be gently" "I'll try" I say and lifts up her shirt. I gently put both my hands on her left side and says "Ready?" she nods and closes her eyes tight and waits for the pain to come. "1..." I pop her ribs back in place. She screams in pain. "Okay now the other side" she nods and gets ready again. I pop her ribs back in place and she screams in pain again and starts to breath heavy. "Just breathe. In and out" I say doing it and she follows along. "Good" I get the bandage rape and rapes her torso up. "There now I'll be right back" I get up but she grabs my wrist and I turn around looking at her. "Where are you going?" she asks. "To get some ice for your ribs" she nods and let's go. I head downstairs and gets some ice and goes back. She watches me come in and puts the ice on her side. She gasps and says "It's cold". I laugh "Well what do you expect it to be hot?" she pouts and I can't help but laugh again "Dork". "I am not" she says and I roll my eyes. "You need to get some rest" I say and goes to leave but she says "Wait" I turn back around "Will you stay?" I don't know what to say. "Please?" she pleads and I can't help but nod. I go and sit down in the chair. "Now get some sleep" she nods and soon after she falls asleep. I watch her and holds her hand and sighs cause of how long it took for me to get her out of there before this happened to her. "I'm sorry...for everything".

Lieutenant comes running to me and says "Amon the Avatar has escaped and the one who helped her was Sato. Should we go and find them?". "No" I say "We'll get her eventually" I smirk cause I get an idea.
