💗adsting01💗I run into the room and pop the warm baby bottle into the screaming baby's mouth. I'm starting to get the hang of this. I grin, tucking a strand of my wavy hair behind my ear.
It has been two weeks since I had arrived, and I have already watched three seasons of One Tree Hill. SPOILER: Nathan and Haley get married! Ahh that makes me so angry!
I don't really know what else to do around the house, and I need to at least exercise a little this summer, so I decide to take the baby on a walk.
I go into the backyard and grab the stroller, my aunt's golden retriever, Cody, running up and laying on my feet. "Move you silly dog!" I laugh, as I kick my feet out from under him, trying to escape. The dog gets up and I take that as my chance to run. I grab the stroller and weave between Cody and the porch swing! While on my getaway I trip, and now I lay sprawled on the ground. The lazy dog comes up and starts licking my face. "Oh no!" I scream, giggling and attempting to stand up. When I finally am able to stand, my face is dripping with dog slobber. Gross! I grab the stroller and drag it behind me as I enter the house.
As soon as I get inside the Hawaiian house I run straight to the bathroom. "Aw man!" I yell, as I attempt to wipe the slobber off of my face. "This is disgusting!" As I try to wipe off the last of it I stride into the baby's bedroom. I pick up baby Jackson and walk, with him in my arms, into the living room to place the six month old in his stroller. I then go prepare a bottle for the walk. I stuff a couple of baby wipes and diapers into the bottom of the stroller, and then we're ready to go!
I push the baby stroller out the door and stroll down the sidewalk with it. There really isn't anywhere to go, so I end up walking down the sidewalk, with a baby stroller, walking in a random direction, like any normal teenager does.
I push the stroller for a couple more blocks until I reach that crappy, run down shack I saw on my first day here. I park the stroller next to the restaurant, grab the baby, and for some random reason, I decide to walk in.
Inside, the restaurant is bigger than I had expected. Booths with hungry customers line the walls, and round tables with food on them are scattered throughout the restaurant. I ask a waitress who seems a little older than me, and wears a white buttoned up shirt and a way-to-short skirt with an apron draped over it, for a high chair. The girl is decently pretty, she has auburn hair and freckles sprinkled over her face. The girl smiles, glancing at the baby as she says "Sure! No problem!" .
I go sit down in a corner booth and place the baby in my lap. The teen girl places the high chair next to the table and tells me that somebody will be with me shortly. She then leaves to go help another customer. I place Jackson in the high chair and then pull out my phone to check my Instagram feed.
I don't realize how much time has passed until I hear an awkward grunt next to me. I look to my side and end up staring straight into the middle of a boy's pair of jeans. "Umm..." I say, glancing upward to see the face of the owner of the jeans, "sorry about that." The guy looks like he just came straight from the Upper East Side from a Gossip Girl episode, and I can't help but gawk. His dirty blonde hair swoops across his baby-soft and tan face, light freckles are scattered across his ski-sloped noes, his toned arm muscles peek out from under his white arm sleeves, and his eyes, oh don't get me started on his eyes, they are an impeccable shade of blue and I find myself staring deeper and deeper into his eyes. But... I have a boyfriend. Darn.
"My name is Collin, and I'll be your waiter today." The blonde boy, who's name I now know, has a peeved look on his face, "so what would you like to get today." He says, rolling his dark blue eyes.
"Geez, just cause I was on my phone for a few seconds doesn't mean you need to be a jerk." I murmur, trying to stall, as I look for something good to eat on the menu. Chicken sandwich? Nah, I don't eat chicken. Caesar salad? Ehh, I'm too hungry for that. Hamburger? Sounds good to me! "Oh and by the way, I'll have a hamburger with fries on the side!" I say, winking to baby Jackson jokingly.
"Okay, is that all?" Collin says, glancing at the baby.
"Yep, that's all." I say, matter-of-factly. I shut the menu, and hand it to him, grinning.
"Okay, I'll bring the food shortly." As Collin walks away I can't help but notice how much self-confidence he is lacking. Although at first he came across as an f-boy, he keeps his head down as he weaves through the restaurant, and he carries himself in a way that makes him look like a beaten up puppy. Hmm... It's kinda cute actually.
When Collin comes back with my food, I decide to make light conversation with him. "Hey, so I'm new here so do you have, like, any cool places to recommend?" I say twirling a lock my sandy blonde hair.
"Uhh... I know the beach down the road from this place is pretty popular." Collin's eyes dart from place to place, unable to rest on anything.
"Alright, thanks!" I say, right as the baby starts crying. I scoop up baby Jackson. I suddenly smell the disgusting thing he is crying at, he pooped. "Aww man!" I say without meaning to.
Collin gives me a weird look and then he realizes what's happening. His mouth forms into a grin as he tries to suppress a laugh. "Uggghhhhh!" I groan. I hold Jackson an arms length away from me as I waddle to the bathroom. Yuck.

After ten screams, seventeen nose hairs dying, and six gagging moments later, I manage to come out alive. Whoo, that was intense.
With a clean baby in one hand and a baby-changing bag in the other, I weave my way back through the crowded restaurant. When I get back to the table I plop the baby back down in his high hair and begin to devour my luckily untouched food.
I have never been one of those girls who barely touches their plate, tbh those girls annoy me so much. Yeah, I am one of those who almost always finish what's on their plate. I mean, I'm not fat or anything. In fact, I'm not fat at all. My stomach is so flat that I almost have a six pack, I know right, that's pretty flat, and my legs have a thigh gap. I have to say, at my school back in Dallas I was one of the prettiest and most popular girls there. Okay, I'll admit, I sound pretty arrogant right now. But, when a person has worked as hard as I have for their body and appearance to be spot on, then I think that person has the right to gloat a little.
Collin comes back to my table a few minutes after I have finished my hamburger. Man, that was a good hamburger. "Ready for your check?" He asks. I can tell he is still amused with Jackson's "little" explosion that happened earlier.
"Yep! I think so!" I reply, handing him my aunt's credit card.
"Alright! I'll be right back!" Collin responds, and then goes to swipe the card. When he comes back, I'm all set to go! "Here's your card, thanks for coming!" Collin says.
"Yeah, thanks for everything!" I say as I walk out the door.
I am definitely going back there again.
