Hey readers! I have 3 pieces of good news:) but first I want to say something about writing this chapter. Basically in the beginning of this chapter I knew what I wanted to say but I didn't know how to say it, so I guess I experienced a type of writer's block. And then I got sidetracked and busy with other things, it was all of your comments to update that inspired me to get back and finish up this chapter. Now, I am on a family 6 hour long road trip so I decided to spend the time to write up the rest of this chapter and part of the next chapter up. Ok now that I got that out here comes the good news:
1. I am back and writing again
2. THIS BOOK HAS REACHED 1K READERS AND I AM SUPER HAPPY
3. This is the chapter that I took the excerpt from, so basically it's the chapter you guys have been waiting for
4. (BONUS): ok this is more like a question than news, but I'm starting a new book and I was wondering who would be interested in reading itOk that's it for now :)
Adsting01"Well, well, well who do we have here?" The crowd parts for the source of the deep-and-too-pretty-to-be-human, male voice. As soon as I catch sight of the figure I have to bite my lip to prevent a gasp from escaping my lips. Man, that boy is pretty.
His dark alluring eyes bore into mine, and they have a hint of mystery within them. A messy-but-hot mop of hair covers the guy's forehead, stopping right above his raised eyebrows. My eyes travel down to his mouth, which is drawn into a knowing smirk. I already don't like this guy.
I clear my throat. I am not going to let this guy, no matter how sexy he is, win. "Well wouldn't you like to know?" I hear gasps from the crowd that has formed around us. Now it is my turn to smirk.
The pretty boy sneers, "Well you are in my house so I think I have the right to know--"
"Wait this is his house?" I hiss under my breath so only Grace can hear. Oh shit. "Well you know what," I say in a louder voice, "whatever." I stomped out of the room, the stares of the bystanders burning through my skin.
Grace shuffles up from behind me, "hey, I think now would be a good time to leave."
I open my mouth to say something but am interrupted.
"No, stay." The all too familiar deep-and-too-pretty-to-be-human, male voice that I had left behind in the dance room announces while he strides into the room with a crowd following behind him. "I still haven't gotten your name yet, and anybody stupid enough to talk back to me is someone worth keeping around to see what next idiotic thing she ends up doing." The corner of Chris's smooth lips pull up into a smile, revealing his perfectly straight white teeth.
"Actually, I think I am going to go ahead and get out of here Grace. I don't really enjoy our company." I make a move towards the door that leads back into the dance room, but this Chris guy and stupid little posse block the exit. "What? Are you literally going to keep me hostage here?" I check my nails to make it look like I'm not in the mood to give a fuck with him.
"Yep, until you make up for your little accident a couple of minutes ago."
I roll my eyes, "you mean the accident where a random girl spilled her drink all over me? Literally everybody spills their drinks at parties and if anybody should have to make up for that, it should be the little slutbag that spilled her drink. Not me."
Chris's smile transforms into a sneer, "I'll take care of her later, right now I'm dealing with you."
I roll my eyes again, but stay silent. This guy is way too dramatic. Without a response he continues.
"Let's play a game." Chris says with a smirk.
"What game?" I ask nervously, glancing at all the faces in the small room.
"It's called The Chase. The girls get twenty minutes to hide anywhere on the entire island, except no hiding on private property. After twenty minutes, the boys will then split up and go searching. If one of us finds one of you girls that girl has to do whatever we want."
"And if we win?" I ask challengingly.
"Your choice." He says narrowing his eyes.
I size up my new teammates and competition. Fine, if he wants me to 'make up for the little drama that I caused' then I would make up for it and get a little extra revenge on him as an added bonus. I don't like this guy one bit. He reminds me of my ex times like five, one of those guys who has everything and knows that he does. Well, he doesn't get this win. Because I win everything. Everything. I get everything I want and that's that. He doesn't get anything from me, not even a win from this stupid game. So when I reach out to shake his perfectly manicured hand with my perfectly manicured hand and say "game on" I mean it.
Ok this was a very, very short chapter but that's okay because a lot of action is coming up so just be prepared. Also guys, if I have any typos or mistakes or anything feel free to point them out I won't be mad, actually it would be super helpful!!!
Thanks for reading,
