Here ya go :)
The high pitched beep the timer makes echoes throughout the house as it is set. The red glowing numbers on it read 20:00. The amount of minutes I have before they start searching for us. It is 10:30 right now. I have to last until 4am. That's six and a half hours of running. Will I get tired? Yes. Will I regret agreeing doing this in the morning? Probably. Will I make it? Hell yeah.
I step outside into the moist Hawaiian air and join my new teammates in a circle to discuss what our game strategy will be.
"So what's the plan?" A dark haired girl I recognize from the beach slurs as she leans on a nearby teammate. The barely cognizant girl forces me take a look around at the rest of my team, most of them are almost too drunk to keep themselves upright. Great. Looks like I'm flying solo on this one.
"I say splitting up is our best option. The farther we are from each other the harder it is for the then to find us," I answer. There is no way in hell I am getting stuck with some chick that can barely hold down a couple of drinks. "You, you, and you," I point to three of the girls across from me, "take the north side of the island. And you, you, you, and her," I point to the three of the girls who look the most sober out of the group and the dark haired girl who is now swaying to the beat of the background music, "take the south side. I will go East and the rest of you go West."
Everybody nods their heads in agreement and immediately I turn on my heel, the gravel crunching under me, and start a mad dash towards my Black Landrover. Snickers and low laughs come from behind me. I do a quick glance over my shoulder and spot three boys standing on the porch watching me with their narrowed eyes. They're waiting for the 20 minutes to be up. The timer behind them reads 18:55 minutes.
I open the door to my car and slide into the comfort of my leather seats. I shove the keys into the ignition, put the car into reverse, and ram my foot on the gas pedal. The car lurches backwards and onto the street. I point it towards Malkuku East beach and speed forward.
I chose the East part of the island for one reason. It's where Emily's is. However, I don't know if Collin will be working this late so I send him a quick text:
Me: Hey are you at Emily's rn?
Collin: Yeah. What's up?
Me: I need your help.
Collin: What's wrong?
I set my phone down. It's too long of a story to explain over text, Collin will just have to wait a couple of minutes.
I haul ass towards Emily's, meanwhile my phone is lighting up with texts from Collin asking where I am, if I need him to come and get me, and what's wrong. I role my eyes and ignore the texts. He is so overreacting. I pull into the restaurant's parking lot and park my car. The salt in the air makes its way to my nose, as I rush into Emily's.
I open the doors to Collin running towards me. His flawlessly shaped eyebrows drawn together, causing his deep blue eyes to crinkle at he ends and launch into and even darker blue than they already were.
"Jenna! What's wrong?! Where were you? Are you oka--" Collin's eyes bore into mine, searching for the root of his worries. I cut him off.
"Yes I'm okay," I laugh nonchalantly in an attempt to lighten the mood.
His broad shoulders lay back ever so slightly, and his upturned lips start to turn up at the ends. "Then what do you need my help for?" Collin asks.
"I got myself in sorta," I pause to find the words to describe what I got myself into, "a tight situation."
Collin's eyebrows draw back together, and he proceeds to ask me what I mean and I spend the rest of my remaining hiding time explaining the Chase to him.

"So you need my help with finding a place to hide?" Collin asks warily.
I nod. Awaiting his response I find my fingers fiddling with the hem of my shirt. Wtf?! I only do that when I'm nervous, and I'm not nervous. I don't get nervous anymore. Plus, it's Collin for goodness sake. What do I care if he'll help me or not? He's just some guy I met a couple of weeks ago, he doesn't mean anything to me.
A long pause resides in the air before Collin clears his throat, "Okay, I'll help." His eyes begin to crinkle and his hearty laugh breaks through the air as he lightly punches me.
"Hey!" A smile springs onto my face, and I punch his toned arm as hard as I can, but I guess it's too hard because as I do so, a quick pain runs up my right arm. Meanwhile, Collin stands in front of me goofily grinning and unfazed by my attempt at fun revenge.
"C'mon I've got a place," Collin takes my hand into his and leads me to the door, while he calls out behind him "Emily, I'm done for tonight!"
Who else is team Collin right about now??
