Chapter Eleven.
Today was the fastest I've gotten out of bed, showered, gotten dressed and eaten breakfast in my entire life. I couldn't wait to see Luke, I couldn't sleep thinking about him and whenever I did try to sleep, I had nightmares with Mason that I always woke up from. I got to school really early and sat in front of Luke's locker, waiting for him to show up.
Hoping that he will show up this time.
"Waiting for someone?" I look up and my entire body shivers, but I tell myself to keep calm as I see a black-eyed Mason holding a backpack above his left shoulder.
"Black-eyes suit you," I tell him and he laughs in a sarcastic way. "What are you doing here?"
"Same as you, learning."
What?
He's going to come to school with us?
"You know, I don't like gossipy people," he leans down to match my height as he grabs my chin and forces me to look at him. "Next time I might just chop your tongue off."
"No, you won't." I hear Luke's voice just as he grabs Mason's backpack and pulls it up, him along with it. "Get lost before you get another black-eye." He tells Mason, who takes a step forward and smirks at his brother.
"Yes brother." And with that, Mason disappears between the crowd.
After Mason is completely out of view, Luke looks over at me and his face softens. He offers me hand to get up. "Are you okay?" I nod, reaching for his hand as he pulls me up with no apparent effort.
"Honey!" From nowhere, Kendall throws herself at Luke. I don't know if I should just go and give them space or- right there, she kisses him on the lips.
Okay.
That's my cue to leave.
I turn on my heels and spot Charley and Vicky just a few steps away, so that's where I head. "Hi!" I greet the both of them, first I hug Charley and then I hug Vicky.
"Hi girl, how are you?" She asks me. "I saw you over there talking to Luke and another hottie, mind introducing me?" I do. I do mind.
"Yeah, he's-uh-Luke's twin brother," she looks at me confused, but Charley isn't surprised at all. Then, I remember Charley has been in this school for much longer than Vicky. "Don't ask. I won't probably know how to answer. I just found out a few days ago."
"They don't look alike, but the guy is still fine as hell." I roll my eyes at her. "You should introduce me!"
"I won't," I tell her and she gasps. "He's bad news. I don't want him near you."
"Who are you? My mother?" She laughs, but my face remains the same. "Jesus. Alright. I'll find my ways." She grabs a few things from her locker before shutting it and leaving. She will thank me someday.
"I see you've met Mason," Charley tells me.
"You know him?"
He nods, "He used to be in the team too, but he has always been trouble. The coach kicked him from the team when he heard what he had done to the poor Cassie and when the video tape was leaked, he was spelled."
"There's a video tape?"
"There was, yeah. Her family managed to get it out of every social media. Everyone here liked Cassie so they deleted it from their phones too. I think the video doesn't exist anymore." He tells me.
I suddenly begin to feel more intrigued about this girl. "Who is the girl? Why would Mason do that to her?"
"Cassie is an average girl, she's really innocent yet the kindest person I've ever met. And beyond what other guys might think, she's pretty good looking to me. She was just so innocent she managed to fall for an idiot like Mason, at first he liked her, but the evil inside him just devoured him, he stopped caring for anyone other than himself. The more bad things he did, the more the evil consumed him. So one night, he decided it would be fun to drug her in party. Apparently, she didn't want to have sex with him and he was a little high, so he gave her a spiked drink and raped her. He didn't know his friend would record it, but when he knew, he didn't care either. He wasn't the one who posted the video though, her best friend did. She was obsessed with Mason, and when she realized he was actually falling for another girl who wasn't her, she didn't care it was her best friend, she just posted the video."
