He hadn't been there for more than five minutes and they were already judging him, "The White Boy," "The Hick," "The Redneck," "The Hillbilly." They made fun of his tight jeans, his camo hoodie, his boots, and his accent. I couldn't understand how anyone could be so cruel.

Me? Well, I thought he was gorgeous. His Wrangler jeans were just tight enough to show off his amazing ass, and anyone who can quote Luke, Brantley, and Jason while introducing themselves is alright with me. Those three boys could melt a girl's heart faster than homemade peach ice cream on sunburnt lips.

I looked up to notice him sitting next to me. I tried to force myself to say something, but I was too damn shy, so I just kept smiling like the dork I am. I was so wrapped up in his sparkling blue eyes that I barely noticed him ask my name.

"My name's Allie-May, but my friends call me Allie," I replied, still smiling like a dork.

"Hi, Allie, I'm Andrew, but I go by Andy. Do you mind me sitting here?" He said, matching my dorky tone.

"Not at all," I smiled, this time managing to make it a little less dorky.

By the time the bell rang signalling the start of first period, Jessa noticed Andy talking to me, and she just couldn't have that, "Hey, Andy, I think you should come sit with us. No one wants to be around that whore."

"Her name is Allie-May and I do. By the way, it's Andrew." Jessa looked shocked, no one had ever stood up to her, especially when it came to me.

Andy looked at me with sadness in his eyes. "Don't feel bad for me, Andy. I'm used to it."

"It's not right."

"Quiet," Mrs. Jamerson yelled as she walked into the room. Andy was still watching me with the same look of sadness in his eyes, but something had changed. I gave him a weak smile and turned my attention to Mrs. Jamerson.

Every time I looked over, I'd notice Andy watching me out of the corner of his eye, as if he were waiting for me to break down and cry. I was worried he would ask why Jessa was so mean to me. I wasn't ready to talk about that, my parents didn't even know.

When the bell rang for second period, I rushed out the door before Andy, or Jessa could catch me. I took my usual seat in the back of the third row. Mr.Payton, my biology teacher noticed my mood and hobbled over. "Hey, sweetie, is everything okay?" He asked, clearly concerned.

"I'm fine, Mr. Payton," I said, forcing a smile. "I'm just really excited for today's lesson." He nodded and walked away to greet the rest of the class. Biology wasn't exactly my favorite subject, but if it got me out of talking about that horrible night last summer, I was all for it.

Mr. Payton was about seventy years old. He said he'd never retire because there would always be a kid in need of a good education. I admired him for that, but damn, the man could barely walk. He has a strict no talking rule for the first half hour of class, which I took to my advantage. I didn't have a lab partner, as I like to work alone, so Andy plopped down right next to me.

"Hey, Allie, why'd you run away?"

"Shh, Mr. Collins!"

"Sorry, sir." For the next half hour, we sat in silence.

"Class is over in about fifteen minutes, use this time wisely. Your homework is on the board. Due first thing tomorrow morning."

Jessa walked over as Mr. Payton sat down at his desk. "Hey, Cow. Does your latest victim know about Josh?"

"Victim? No, no one knows about Josh."

"Maybe he should."

"There is nothing to tell him."

"Don't lie, you little whore," Jessa whispered as she walked away. There was five minutes left in the period. I had to leave, I couldn't wait. Trying to hold back my tears, I ran for the door.

To my dismay, Andy followed me. "Allie, please, stop running." I stopped as he grabbed my shoulders. "Allie, please tell me what's going on."

"I, I can't, Andy, It's too complicated," I said, crying harder. Andy reached down and wiped my tears.

He pulled me into his warm body. "Don't cry, darlin'. We'll get through this. I'm here for you."

Damn, that boy. His perfecly chiseled body felt nice against mine. I looked up and smiled, trying not to get lost in his eyes. "Thanks, Andy."

"No problem."
