Chapter 1

Chapter 1: The New Girl

"I hope I don't make a bad first impression" I thought to myself as I walked up to the Headmasters office at Cross Academy. I had been enrolled in the Night Class, whatever that is. I'm kind of nervous, the Night Class is supposed to be different than others. I'm not unique in any way!

I slowly open the door and see two people standing in front of the headmaster. As soon as they hear me, they turn around and stare at me. One of them, the girl, had short dark brown hair and brown eyes. The boy that was with her had silver hair and lilac eyes.

The headmaster stood up and ushered the two out the door. "Yuki, Zero, you may be excused." He sighed and sat back down. "Well, let's get to buisness."  I gingerly moved towards his desk. "Um, hi. I'm Hikari Akagawa. You enrolled me in the.. Night Class?"
"Yes, your classes will start tomorrow, but there is one small thing." I nervously shifted to one side. "What?"
"Your classes will be.. At night."

I strolled up to where I'd be staying, the Moon Dorm to be exact. The massive black doors loomed over me. I cautiously enter my new dorm, suddenly greeted by a blonde haired boy with crystal clear blue eyes. He inched towards me. "And who might you be?"

My heart started to race. He was getting closer and closer to me. His eyes were turning a blood red. "Um, I'm H-Hikari Akagawa. I'm n-new here. I've been enrolled in the Night Class." He took my hand and brought it to his mouth. "You smell... Delicious."

"Aido." The boy immediately turned around and stared at the person standing at the top of the stairs. He had chestnut hair with dark brown eyes. He looked of some importance, he seemed to be like an alpha. " President Kuran! I can explain-"
"You may leave now Aido. We will discuss your punishment later." I watched as the blonde haired boy slumped away to his dorm.

"I'm sorry about him. He's a bit, hungry." The other boy walked down the stairs and stuck his hand out. "I'm Kaname Kuran. Welcome to the Night Class." I shook his hand and felt his tight grip. I looked into his caring eyes, before he said, "Please, let me show you to your dorm."

I opened the door to my new room, surprised to see two other girls watching the door. Well, I guess they were now watching me. The girl on the right had ginger hair in pigtail with pale blue eyes. The girl on the left had light brown hair in a ponytail with light brown eyes.

They were both wearing white jackets with short white skirts. "So," the girl with pigtails walked over to me. "You're the new girl." The other girl smirked. "Kaname-sama said her name was Hikari." I nervously waved to them. "Y-yup, that's me. Hikari Akagawa." The pigtail girl got closer and closer... "Welcome to Cross Academy."

I heaved a sigh of relief before I spoke. "So, am I rooming with you guys?" The brown haired girl looked at me. "Why else would you be here?" The other girl chuckled. She spoke. "Anyway, I'm Rima. Rima Toya." I smiled. "Nice to meet you, Rima. What's your name?" I looked at the other girl, who was grabbing a small box from a chest of drawers. "I'm Ruka Souen. Oh and by the way," she tossed the box my way and I caught it. (Barely ;-p) "These are your blood tablets. Have one whenever you feel the urge."

"Um, ok..." I opened the box and saw a bunch of small round white tablets stored inside. "Thanks." Rima opened the door and started to leave. "Wait, where are you going?"
"To class. Remember, our classes have to be at night." Ruka followed her out, turning around to tell me, "Your uniform is in the chest of drawers in the next room. See you tomorrow."

The door shut behind them and I flopped on to the sofa. I flipped the box with the "blood tablets" over and read the bottom. "Put one blood tablet in a glass of water until tablet is fully dissolved. Drink when you have thirst for... Blood?!"

I grabbed a glass of water and took one of the blood tablets out of the box. I dropped the tablet into the glass, watching it fizz into a blood red colour. I waited a few seconds, just to make sure it didn't explode. Slowly, I picked up the glass and took a sip.

As soon as it touched my tongue, I spat the red liquid all over the mahogany table in front of me. Whoops... A few minutes later I had just finished up cleaning the disgusting blood water off the table. "Maybe this is some kind of ritualistic thing that the Night Class drinks. I'll guess I'll have to get used to it."

I decided to give myself a tour of the dorm. The main room, the room I was in, had three desks, some bookshelves and an entertainment area. (Sofa and a table.) I walked through the hallway to the sleeping quarters. (Bedroom.)

On the wall in front of me were three beds, each with tall bedposts on every corner. I saw some chest of drawers in one corner and a bookshelf in the other. I could tell that my bed was the one in the middle, because the other two had books, clothes and homework everywhere.

I grabbed my new uniform from the chest of drawers and sat down on my bed. It's a pure white jacket and skirt with a jet black shirt, tie and socks. I flopped back onto my pillow and sighed. I started to think about who I met today.

First, I met a blonde haired boy who the dorm president, Kaname Kuran, said was hungry. Then, Rima and Ruka gave me "blood tablets", which dissolve into horrible tasting blood water. "It's almost like they're vampires... No that can't be. Vampires don't exist..."

I checked the clock above the window. "2:43 a.m. If my classes are at night, I should probably try to stay up." I grabbed a manga book from my backpack at started to read. "I wonder if the other people in the Night Class are nice. Anyway, I'll meet them in the morning. This is going to be a long night..."
