Chapter 9:

The ride to the pack house was very quiet, but it wasn't an awkward or angry silence it was nice peaceful and comfortable. When we arrived at the pack house I was in awe. It was huge and gorgeous, almost castle like. If the outside was beautiful then magnificent would be an understatement for the inside. I gasped as I looked up at the Crystal chandelier that hung above us. Harry chuckled and laced his fingers with mine and began pulling me up a large staircase.

There were a lot of people in here I didn't recognize. Every once in a while I would come across a familiar face. Harry dragged me all the way to the front until we were standing in front of a stage where six people sat in long grey robes all of which were elderly. One of them caught my eye. She had jet black hair that was streaked grey; her eyes were what startled me. One was a very bright grey almost glowing the other was a scarlet red. I gasped in amazement, she held her gaze with me she looked just as shocked as me. Her eyes seemed to peel away every layer of my being almost like she was searching for something. Her eyes stopped on my hand that was intertwined with Harry's and she shot up abruptly. She muttered something in a language I didn't comprehend. Harry was oblivious to our encounter as he spoke respectfully to another man seated at the table. The woman began to walk around the table and decreed the steps; the room fell silent as everyone watched her with shock. Harry stiffened and then slowly bowed to her. I copied his actions as did everyone else. I watched as her feet came into view in front of me.

She cupped my chin gently and drew my fee up to look at her.

"La Luna" she whispered and closed her eyes. She began muttering things to me that I also didn't understand. I felt my whole body heating up as she continued to chant something. I closed my eyes as I felt something stir beneath me. I took a deep breath and opened my eyes. She had stepped away from me but was still eyeing me in disbelief. I looked to harry and watched as he took a sharp intake breath.

"What?" I asked but it didn't come out as English. My eyes widened as I tried to speak again. "Harry what's wrong?" I tried but still it came out as gibberish. This time the women spoke, in the same language as before but this time I understood it.

"Luna, I see you have not fully awakened yet." She spoke softly.

"What's wrong with me?" I asked her.

"In due time it will be opened to you" she said.

"Who are you?" I asked.

"My name is Zaydimar; I am one out of six in the infinity ring." She spoke softly.

"Infinity ring?" I cocked my head to the side.

"Yes meja, do not worry you will have it soon." She spoke cryptically.

I had a feeling she wasn't going to explain so I simply nodded at her. She smiled before placing her hand on my forehead.

"Return" she said sternly.

"What are you doing?" I asked but this time it came out as English, I breathed out a sigh of relief but that feeling soon went away as I noticed everyone watching me in shock. The woman smiled at me and kissed both my cheeks before walking away and taking her place back on the stage. Harry cleared his throat and everyone averted their gaze from me. I didn't care about anyone else but what made me feel sick was when even harry wouldn't look at me. I felt my eyes sting as I took a couple steps away from him. I turned around and began walking away, I glanced back only to see Lindsey clinging to Harry's arm that pissed me off but what threw me over the edge was that he wasn't pushing her off.

For a split second I felt hurt but a scorching heat over came me and my eye sight was lowered. I realized my height was what had changed. By the vicious growls ripping through my throat I knew I had shifted. I barred my teeth at her as another feral snarl ripped though my chest. Everyone seemed to step away from me; the people that were once shocked over my quick shift were now watching me with frightened yet somewhat prideful eyes. A man seated on the stage with all white hair stood up. He nodded to me and I dipped my head in acknowledgment not taking my eyes off Lindsey whom harry had distanced himself from - good idea if you asked me-. The man cleared his throat and looked at Lindsey in disgust.

"Your Luna has challenged you. Fight or be punished." His deep baritone voice echoed through the eerie silent room. At that precise moment harry met my gaze with a pained expression. It broke me and my wolf down to see him looking at us like that. A small whimper escaped my chest. As my attention was solely on him Lindsey took that opportunity to strike. As pissed off as I was I couldn't bring myself to move, all I could do was stare at him. So when her razor Sharp teeth dug into my right shoulder blade I didn't howl in pain or snap at her I simply stared into Harry's eyes. She came at me again, this time she bit my back right ankle. I'm pretty sure she broke it due to the horrible sound of bone snapping and the excruciating pain that shot through my body. Everyone watched me with such hurt, disappointment, and sadness. I felt heartbroken that after we had just made up and I had decided to forgive him, here he stood not even trying to help me let alone explain why he let her near him after he promised me he would stay away from her.

You know nothing! My wolf spat angrily at me for not defending myself and my mate.

Why isn't she fighting back?! An agonized voice sounded through my mind.

I cocked my head to the side as I watched Harry's face contort in pain. It was then that I realized it was his voice I was hearing, and that he could feel everything I was feeling. He finally met my eyes and I showed him the only emotion that was within me. Once again it was an emotion he knew all too well. Betrayal.

As Lindsey charged at me again this time I didn't succumb to her. As soon as she was close enough she launched herself at me. I dropped to the floor as her body skimmed over me. Standing up tall on my legs I focused my attention solely on her. We circled each other sizing on another up. While she was searching for my weakness I had already discovered hers. My eyes zeroed in on her right hind leg as I watched her limp from her collision with the ground. Before she could even comprehend my moves I had shot out and caught her foot in my jaws bone crushing grip easily breaking it. She howled out in pain and I took the moments distraction to snap her front right leg also. Her cries were agonizing as she dropped to her side not being able to keep balance. I could feel all the hairs done my spine stand up at the thought of victory.

NOW! Kill her!

My wolf sneered dipping my head I once again barred my teeth at her. Slowly approaching her I came to stand directly over her broken body. I stared her straight in the eyes as I felt my muzzle closing in around her throat. The taste of her blood was what brought me back from my wolf's actions. I hadn't noticed she had taken over until I heard the sounds of the other wolves howling around me in excitement. She whimpered beneath me and in a split second I dropped her dirty scarlet stained tan fur from my mouth. I knew I hadn't killed her. Though I was close to I had only put enough pressure down to break some over the skin in her neck. With one last snap in her face I walked over her like she was nothing but trash.

The older women from before came to me dropping a robe over my back. She sent a simple chant out and before I knew it I was back in my human form. My naked body was covered by the robe she had placed over me. My legs that I was once positive to be broken wasn't even bruised, and now that I think about it all the times she had hurt me It had only lasted mere seconds before the pain was gone I smiled gratefully extending my arms through the sleeves keeping the thick fabric closed over my body.

"The Luna claims winner over the battle but spares her opponents life." The man from before spoke. I took that time to speak looking at harry the whole time.

"I'm no longer your Luna." I said with no emotion. With that did I turned around and exited the room. Jake fell into step beside me and slung his arm over my shoulders. I let the tears fall freely from my eyes as we made our way to his car. After we were both seated inside his car he sighed and ran a frustrated hand through his hair.

"Well looks like we're both mate less now." He said with a dark chuckle. I looked at him and furrowed my eyebrows.

"Who's your mate?" I asked as he started the car.

He turned to me with a not so happy or amused smile.

"Lindsey."
