Chapter 13

*Maeko P.O.V*

I'm sleeping peacefully when I get a call. Judging by the ringtone it was from Za'nae. I was not about deal with her ass this early in the morning. She always seems to talk extra loud in the morning time. I looked at my clock while trying to find my phone. It was 3:45AM. She should know she about to get cussed out.

"What?" I say shutting my eyes again.

"Goodmorning Ko. Are you up for school?" She asks.

"Girl it's 3 in the morning. You have official lost your mind."

She laughs. "Boy it's most definitely 7:25 in the morning."

My eyes shoot open as I look at the clock seeing the wrong time from what was on my phone. "Damn. Let me call you back."

"Got to be more careful." She laughs.

"Girl..."

I hang up the phone and rush to get ready. I ran to the bathroom to brush my teeth, wash my face and to rub on some deodorant. I grabbed my phone and keys and head to the bus. I could just as easily drive to school but that's because gas is high. Anyways, I get to the bus stop and spot Za'nae standing there. I walk up and we start talking.

"Hey Nae." I say while hugging her.

"Hey Ko. you won't believe the day I had yesterday."

"Tell me about it." I say, looking for my headphone in my bookbag.

Before she could start telling me what happened Lyric, Brenden, and Lonnie walked up.

"Good morning y'all." Lyric said enthusiastically.

"Goodmorning." Nae and I said.

"Oooh Za'nae girl do you remember what I was telling you on the phone the other night?"

"Yeah." Za'nae said.

"Him and I met up and had a good time." She says while semi twerking.

"What type of good time?" Brenden said.

"The kind that don't concern you boy." She mushes his forehead.

"I swear you a thot." He laughs.

"A paid one though." She says, flipping her weave.

At this moment the bus pulled up, and we were on our way to school. Za'nae and Lyric sat together, I sat with Brenden, and Lonnie sat with this dude named Tobias. The ride was chill until Brenden sparked up a conversation.

"So how you liking school so far?" He asked me.

"So far so good it's a lot of tests and work, but I'm getting by how about you?"

"The same. You know my birthday coming up." He says.

"When is your birthday?" I asked.

"November 22." He says.

"Mines too." I said shocked.

"Wow small world. I want to have a party and since your birthday is on the same day we should do it together." He suggested.

"I like that idea so I'm down."

"Today is the 30th of October so we got time to prepare this."

"Okay."

We spent so much time talking about the party. I didn't notice that we pulled up to the school. We get off and enter the school. Za'nae went off with Lyric. Lonnie went to catch up with his freshman friends. I am stuck walking with Brenden. Once we enter the school we go in to the cafeteria and meet up with Bj, Milo, and Japree. I dap everyone up and introduce them to Brenden.
