Chapter 16

The next morning I was sleeping beautifully. Out of nowhere Lando busts in my room, and I immediately jumped up. I look at my clock, and it's 8:30 in the morning. This boy has clearly lost his mind.

"Happy 18th birthday lil nigga." He screams while jumping on my bed.

"How in the hell did you get in here?" I ask while rubbing my eyes,

"Um I'm your step brother now remember. I got a key." He jiggles the keys in the air.

"Oh. well thanks. Now get the fuck out." I say while laying back down.

"You lucky I got to go to work Dasean and I will be at the party later. Enjoy yourself!"

"Get the fuck out!"

I wasn't worried about anything Lando was saying I just wanted to resume my sleep. Right when I got comfortable enough my mom called. I am so fucking over life today.

"Hello." I say kind of irritated.

"Boy who you getting sassy with?" Mama said

"Sorry Ma. I was sleep. Wassup?"

"I just wanted to wish you a happy birthday from Kalij and I. We love you baby."

She could've texted me that. "Thank y'all very much."

"We will be home soon. Enjoy yourself today. Call me back later." She giggled in the background.

"I know you not being nasty."

She laughs. "Bye Maeko."

"Alright." I say hanging up.

It was clear I wasn't going to get anymore sleep, so I decided to get my day started. I grabbed my phone while walking to the bathroom to pee, and handle my hygiene. After I was done I smelt some good ass food, and I knew I wasn't going crazy. I walk downstairs and Dino is standing at the table with everything set up with my breakfast.

"Good morning baby." He says while opening his arms for a hug.

"What is all this?" I say after kissing him. "Who let you in here?"

"It's part two of your birthday gift. I really wanted to talk to you and stuff before your party." Dino says. "And damn you didn't want me in your house?"

"No it's not that." I say, speechless. "Well let's eat."

We sit at the table and start to eat. It was silence for a minute before he started talking. "So how does it feel to be 18 now?"

"The same really. I just have a wonderful boyfriend now."

"You didn't have one before?" he says while smiling.

"I do now." I say while chuckling a little.

There was that silence again. "Maeko I am really happy that you're with me. I never would've seen myself in this position years ago. I really want you for the long run."

"I agree. We have had our total ups and downs, but we pushed through them. I'm glad you a made that move on me. So I need to ask. Had you ever thought about it before that?"

He took a bite of his bacon. "To be honest I didn't. It came out of nowhere when it did. You've always had a few feminine tendacies, so I chose to act on it."

"You view me as a female?"

"No. You are all male baby. If I wanted a girl I would've went and got one."
