Chapter 14

*One Month Later*

The next few weeks flew by and before I knew it. November 20th had finally came. We are out of school for Thanksgiving break. Everything seems to be going well. Lando and I are on great terms. He has someone new in his life, but let's be honest the dude is no cuter than me. Milo got a job at the airport which is great for him.

Za'Nae moved on from Derrick even though his psycho ass still calls to harass her. Lyric and Za'Nae have become real close, and I'm happy that she has some type of female guidance. Lyric has a boyfriend now. She says she's going to introduce us to him at the party so I can't wait.

Dino and I are better than ever. We haven't been having sex because he's been busy with school, and trying to find a job, so I applaud him. I found out Japree and BJ aren't cool anymore at Japree's birthday party and this strikes me as very strange. They just said they found out about some shit that was said and they got into it. I didn't pry, so I Ieft it alone. Kalij and My mom are having the time of their lives. I warmed up so much to having a father figure in my life. It's now Thursday the party is the 22nd. Which is Saturday, so I need to go over everything again with Brenden. So I call him.

*Brenden's P.O.V*

I'm at my house sending out invitations. I gave a lot of people at school invitations, and now I just need to tie up loose ends. I hear my phone ringing. I find my phone and answer it.

"Wassup Ko."

"Did you send out all the invitations and figure out what food will be served?" He asks without saying hello back.

"Well hello to you too. It's customary to be respectful when calling someone. " I say.

"Anyways did you do it?"

"Yes. My mama cooking the food and you know her and my dad going out to a hotel until Monday night."

"Okay. What she cooking?"

"Hot wings, French fries, Hamburgers, Ribs, Corn, Beans and Meat, and She making a fruit salad."

"Sound like food for a barbeque and Drinks?" Maeko asked.

"Excuse me dude. It's a party. She just wants to appeal to all taste buds." I say, slightly offended.

"Ain't nothing wrong with that Brenden. What drinks? I need to know if I should bring anymore."

"Sprite, Coca-Cola, Fruit Punch, and Orange." I say looking over the list.

"Okay well we good." He says amped.

"Oh yeah I invited Lando, BJ, Dino, Milo, Japree, Alezay, Gloria, Jemmye, and a bunch of others is that cool?"

"Yeah." He says

"Alright then I'll talk to you later." I hang up the phone before he could respond and sit my phone on the bed.

I have everything set for Saturday, Now all I need is to figure out how I'm getting Ko that night. I told people I'm not giving up.

*Maeko P.O.V*

After I get off of the phone with Brenden I get a call from Dino. I quickly answer because he does not like when I miss his calls.

"Hey baby." I say to him, tossing all the paper off of my bed and sitting down.

"Wassup. I need you to get dressed."

"Why?" I asked, curiously.

"Because I want to give you an early birthday special. plus we ain't had alone time in forever and I want to see you."
