Chapter 19

*Maeko P.O.V*

The party was still going on, and I couldn't get my mind off of Dino. I called his phone for the twentieth time, and he still hasn't answered. I was sitting on the sofa when Brenden came over to me, and sat down.

"Why do you look so unhappy?" Brenden says. "This is our party."

I take a deep sigh. "Dino left with Za'nae and Milo to go to the store, and they haven't came back yet." I say putting my chin on my fist.

"Relax. I'm sure they are somewhere just blazing up." He says rubbing my back for comfort. "Why haven't you called him?"

"He doesn't want me to worry but I can't help it. I just feel something not right."

"You are ruining your party time worrying about nothing. They're probably about to walk through that door any minute."

"I don't know, I just have a feeling tha..." I get cut off by my phone ringing.

"See that may be them."

"But all of their numbers are saved though. I'll be back."

It was an unsaved number. I excuse myself from Brenden, and walk to the backyard to answer the call.

"Hello." I answer.

"Hey Ko." The person says.

"Hey, Who's this?" I ask.

"This is Rodrikus." He says

"Oh..." I sigh of relief. "Wassup big homie?" I say.

"Nothing much, I was calling to see have you seen my brother. My mama been calling him, and we thought maybe the music was too loud, so he couldn't hear his phone." Rod says.

"He was here, but he left with Milo and Za'nae to get a blunt a while ago." I respond as the anxiety was building back up. "I'm getting worried."

"Okay, once he gets back tell him to come home." Rodrikus says. "No. Tell him to call us asap."

"I got you..." I say. "I'm going to try calling him again."

"Do that for me and let me know." He says.

"Will do."

"Peace." He says.

"Peace." I say before hanging up the phone, and Dialing Dino's number again.

The phone rang two times before I got an answer. "Hel-lo" Dino says into the phone very raspy.

I smile a smile of relief. "Baby where are you? I need to see you." I start to drop little tears for some reason. "I been calling you and you aren't answering. You know your folks looking for you."

"I-I'm clo-close." He coughs. "Shit! Call an ambulance Ko." He says into the phone very spaced.

"Where are you? I'm coming to you right now." I ask but he doesn't say anything. "Baby what's going on? What happened?"

The phone made a loud clattering noise on the ground before hanging up. I start to head back into the house to go out, and find Dino. I was stopped by Lyric.

"Hey birthday boy!" She exclaimed.

"I can't talk right now it's something going on with Dino, Milo and Za'nae." I say, frantically.

"Wait..." She grabs my arm. "Calm down! Tell me what's wrong."

"I don't know Lyric. I was on the phone trying to get in touch with him and when I did he sounded very winded. He told me to call an ambulance and I..."
