They walk, hand in hand. It's a sunny day in the middle of July, and you can only catch a glimpse of the clear blue sky in between the thick layer of leaves. Katniss has basically lived in these woods since she was a little girl, and even though Peeta hasn't been here as much as Katniss, he has still been here a handful of times.

Usually when they go to the forest they hunt, but this time is a little bit different; Katniss has agreed to sleep in the forest, just for one night.

"Katniss, what do you say about, maybe, sleeping in the forest? Just for one night?" Peeta had always been fascinated of the forest and its creatures, while Katniss was the more careful of them.

"Are you crazy?" She had replied, later regretting sounding so harsh. "There are so many animals out there Peeta, they could... attack us."

"Yes, but you have your bow." Katniss thought it over. The bow wasn't going to help if someone attacked them while they slept, but there was another solution.

"Ok. But I have one condition." "And What is that?" Peeta asked, thinking that it couldn't be too bad. "Well, there's this cabin near a lake where I used to go as a child, and I'm only going if we sleep in there." Peeta didn't even have to think about it.

"Deal." He said, putting his hand in front of him, acting like they had agreed to some kind of business. Katniss couldn't help but smile as she shook his hand. "Deal."

Though now, as they made their way to the lake Katniss started to regret it. She had already gone through the worst case scenarios in her head, and wasn't really sure that this was a good idea. But she knew she couldn't make Peeta go home, because on his lips he had the widest smile ever, as always when he was in the woods. He reminded her of the first time Prim saw the colorful cakes in the window to the bakery, and how her whole face lit up. And how she forced either Katniss or their mother to go there every day for a whole month, just to look at the cakes. Prim's smile always made Katniss's heart melt, and so does Peeta's. They have been a couple for over three years now, but their love hasn't disappeared, in fact it has probably grown.

When they arrive at the lake the sun is at it's highest, and they're both sweating from walking. So, Katniss takes off her clothes and jumps into the water in just her underwear, soon followed by Peeta.

They swim around for a while, enjoying the cold water until their bodies scream for food. So when they finally leave the water the sun is on it's way home, letting the moon peek up at the horizon.

They sit down on a blanket, eating the food that was supposed to be for lunch as they watch the sunset. They sit for a while trying to point out the different colors, but they all blend together so perfectly that it almost feels wrong to point them out. They're beautiful on their own, but together they create a masterpiece.

Soon the sun leaves and makes place for the moon and the stars. Peeta loves watching the stars (and the clouds and the sunsets too, for that matter), but his eyes keep traveling to Katniss, the only one left that he truly loves, the only one left that he knows he would do anything to protect. As she sits there under the wide night sky she looks so fragile, like the world could break her to pieces. But she also looks strong, and free. So when she turns her head to look back at him, he knows he has to express these feelings to her in some way, to make her aware of how much he loves him. He has thought about this moment a lot, but when it came to it he knows he'll only have to ask her. She will understand.

He pulls out a little silver ring from his pocket, with small rhinestones attached to it, and he just asks her. Like it was the most normal thing to do, even though he knows he'll only do this one time, and that's now.

"Katniss, will you marry me?" A tear slides down her cheek. She can't believe this is happening. She has thought about it a lot, if and if so how it will happen. But when she sits here, right now with the man she loves in front of her holding a ring, she is so happy. So happy that he kept it simple, no attention, no audience, just them. Just them and a ring. "Yes." She answers, more tears falling. "Yes." And then they kiss. Not a romantic make out, or a small kiss of affection. It's a long, passionate kiss, filled with love.

Because they love each other.

Haiii! So I know this book has pretty much only everlark in it, but I've actually thought about writing something everthorne, just to kind of get to see that angle of the story! Let me know in the comments if you'd like to read that!

Also, just during these 5 oneshots I feel like my writing has evolved a lot. Looking back at the first oneshot, my thoughts were "Oh god, embarrassing." or "I should probably delete this." But I've decided not too, 'cause I feel like it would be fun for me, and for you as well, to see my writing evolve!
