Okay, so this is going to be a rant about pets.
Pets, pets, pets.
Pets are really good to have. They are great family, they are great friends, and you can get really close to them.
The problem is...
And no I am not going to be talking about shedding since I've never had a dog or cat but I've just had turtles and hamsters.
Death.
Yup, that's right.
Whenever you get a pet, you have to be prepared to see it die.
I know, it's sad.
And by the time it dies, you would be really attached to it and it feels like you're being torn in half.
There's a hole in your heart in the shape of a pet.
Even pet turtles will most likely die earlier than you do. I've done some calculation and estimated that my turtles will both die when I'm about 50 or 60 something.
And it's pretty likely I'll still be alive at that time.
So I'm dreading that day. Pet dogs and cats are even worse since their lives are shorter.
And if you're keeping a pet fruit fly...
Don't even think about it.
I know it's a really sad and morbid topic but it is true everything comes to an end, and the one thing that really sucks about having a pet is having to watch it die.
That's why I don't want to get another pet.
I'm afraid to see it die.
I have lost a lot in this life. Lots of connections, lots of chances, and a lot of things.
I am hanging from less strings than a lot of people are hanging on to.
I'm worried that watching a pet die would cut all those strings.
I haven't really lost a loved one yet, except for my grandfather who died when I was three or something. And I still cry every time I think about him (in fact, I'm trying really hard to not cry now) I know it's bound to happen at some point, but I don't think I'll ever be ready.
So that's the beyond annoying thing about having pets.
Yeah.
Bye.
