Zeba's pov:

I had really been giving it a thought and I had finally made my decision. I had to ask Abba first, something told me that he would agree.

Abba was sitting near the balcony on the white chair. He was sipping his morning tea, he had his newspaper on his lap but he was evidently staring at the floor, probably lost in thoughts.

"Assalamualaikum abba!"

"Waalaikumsalam wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu, he smiled while taking another sip of his tea."

I sat next to him.

"Umm.. I wana tell you something! "

"Hmm... tell me, he turned looking towards me."

"I have thought about it a lot and have finally made my decision."

"I want to go study in Chennai! "

He stopped his tea cup midway and then took a sip before answering.

"Are you sure you want to leave Dubai and go??"

"Yes! I want to go and live with Dadima"

"In shaa allah.  He paused a bit longer and after taking a sip from his tea said,"But I am coming with you."

"Are you okay with leaving your job?"

"Yes and I don't feel like staying here anymore after...., he almost choked and couldn't complete his sentence."

I knew what he meant because I felt exactly the same.
I put my head in his shoulder and damped a small part of his shoulder with tears that trickled down my eyes.

I sat like that for sometime and it was actually very comforting. I had completely zoned out even dad and never checked up on how he was dealing with all this. He tried to smile whenever I looked at him trying his best to shadow his deep agony.
..........

I didnt realize it had become asar time, I was sitting on my laptop from after lunch. I was checking out for colleges near my grandmother's house. They were all reputed. It was true the best education in India was in the South.

I had read amma's book further it not only had her Romeo mentioned but also references about how exciting India was. It had a fair similarity in Dubai's climate, the people there are friendlier and more welcoming, but the best part about India is its road side food.

Even though only some are hygienic they were delightful treats that are worth every bite ! There is this special drink called JIGAR THANDA(cold heart) she wrote about, which I had devoured repeatedly in my childhood.... it is a sweet drink made of milk, agar agar, a specially made icecream, milkmaid and some other palatable ingredients, just as the name indicates it really is a coolness to the heart. And these different types of wada's ( a fried South Indian dish) and sweets that it doubled my reason to go live there. Yes I am a foodie!
.......
Well, I didn't  know if leaving Dubai was a good idea. All i knew was that I wanted to  start a beautiful life by living with my loved ones. The only person who could comfort Abba is his mother and I wanted all her love and comfort to surround my dad. A small sacrifice of the leisure life of dubai was the least that I could do for him.

Little did she know that her little sacrifice would be the beginning of the most  unexpected turn of events!!
