Chapter 5: Let's play detective

Axel, Zuzu and Luca are all in Axel's room tidying things up. "Did you get a good look at the person who did this?" asks Zuzu. "No, I was asleep and I only woke up when it left" replies Axel. "Did they take anything?" asks Luca. "Yeah. Some pictures of the markets rent office" replies Axel. Axel lets out a big yawn and sits on his bed. "Because you was up all night putting all of the evidence together we will go and get some images of the rent office" says Zuzu. "You don't have to go back to that place if you don't want to" says Axel. "No problem plus I want to show Luca what happened he doesn't even believe me when I tell him" reveals Zuzu. "I can't wait to see this" says Luca. They both levitate out of the window leaving Axel laying on his bed. They get to the market stall and Luca is shocked at how empty it is. "This place really is like a ghost town. No one's around, this place used to be packed with every type of monster on Hell Earth" says Luca. "Yeah it gives me the shivers" replies Zuzu. They walk through the marketplace and get to the end of it where the rent office is but it's nowhere to be seen. "Why have you stopped?" asked Luca. "The rent office was right here" says a very confused Zuzu. "There's nothing here Zuzu" says Luca. "No I mean it. It was right here!" shouts Zuzu. Zuzu points to where it was. Then Luca walks over to where Zuzu is pointing and looks around. "Seriously" chuckled Luca. "Don't you dare laugh at me" shouts Zuzu. "Well we can't ask anyone no one's been around here for days" says Luca. Zuzu puts her hands on her head and walks up and down in a short line muttering stuff to herself whilst Luca just watches her. "I think I've got it!" shouts Zuzu. "What crazy idea have you got now you're getting as bad as Axel with all these weird ideas" joked Luca. "Axel said that the only thing that was taken was the picture of the rent office and now the rent office is gone. "That only means that someone wants all existence of the rent office gone. What's wrong with that?" asks Luca. "It's not the building it's the person who owned the building Mr Greenhult" shouts Zuzu. "Well all of the people who knew him are in the castle dungeons. So his disappearance wasn't reported and the rent office disappearing isn't strange either" explains Luca. A noise comes from behind a market stand so the pair jump to either side of the market stall and slowly creep around the market stall to realise that it was just a street rat in the rubbish. They both sigh in relief then Zuzu notices and piece of gold at the side of the bin. Zuzu gets out a tissue and picks it up. "What have you found there?" asks Luca. Zuzu looks at the gold object and she realises what it is. "It's a damaged doorknob" reveals Zuzu. "What?" asks Luca. As Zuzu is describing what it is she points at each part. "And as you can see it has been burnt evidently by the grey charred marks" explains Zuzu. "So you're telling me that the rent office was burnt down?" asks Luca. "Maybe but why would the doorknob be all the way over here?" asks Zuzu. "It fell off the burning door and blew over here?" reveals Luca. "Come on let's go and show Axel" says Zuzu. They get back to the castle to see that Axel is not in his bed he is being measured by tailors. "What's going on?" asked Zuzu. One of the tailors turns Axel around to where Zuzu and Luca are standing. "My dad is making me go to the red moon ball" sighed Axel. "You have to be kidding me" chuckled Zuzu. "I'm not joking even though he's halfway across the world on business he still heard about it and he is still making me go" says a very annoyed Axel. The tailors finish off measuring Axel for his suit and sets him free they both walk out of the room and close the door behind them. "He can't just make you go like that can he?" asked Zuzu. "Well he has. So it looks like I'm going" replied Axel. "Wait a second don't you need someone to take to the ball?" asked Luca. "Yeah my dad's already set that up I'm going with some princess from Neverland" sighed Axel. "Life must suck when you're a prince" joked Zuzu. Axel sits on his bed and flops to the pillow. "Well it does when you have a dad that follows by tradition" sighed Axel. "Tradition?" asked Luca. "The first prince of all the lands has to go to the red moon ball when they have come of age. Axel takes a deep breath and continues talking. Also he's making me go with someone I don't even know" sighed Axel. "What do you mean were obviously coming with you" says Zuzu. "Seriously!" says a very excited Axel. "Yeah I'm not letting you take all the cute hotties" joked Luca. "Well it's your funeral. So did you show Luca the rent office?" says Axel. Zuzu gets the gold doorknob out of her pocket and shows Axel. "This is all that was left" sighed Zuzu. Then Luca continues to tell Axel what they say and what happened. "This means there's something bigger going on than just sending randomers to disturb Earth" sighed Axel. Both Luca and Zuzu nod in agreement. "We can't go to the ball now we have something bigger around our necks" sighed Axel. "Well why don't we use the ball as a break then we will go straight back to figuring out what's going on" says Zuzu. "Ok but after we will figure out what's going on" says Axel. Zuzu hands over the doorknob to Axel. "Keep it safe I think it survived whatever happened for a reason" says Zuzu. "You should go home you do have a ball to plan for" joked Axel. They both laugh and say their goodbyes and leave. Later on that night Axel puts the board with all of the evidence on it under his bed and he puts the doorknob under a loose floorboard in a shoe box. Then he gets into bed but he can't shift the feeling that he's being watched.
