What Half Demon Vampires Do At Night

Chapter 7: The door that kept on giving

Axel in the middle of the night is staring at his board of evidence for a pattern or a clue he looked over but nothing seems to be working so he turns to the only other piece of evidence that he hasn't looked at yet the doorknob. Slowly lift up the wooden panel puts it to one side and then he grabs the shoe box and puts it next to him. Axel slowly opens the box, picks up the doorknob which is wrapped in cloth and then he unwraps the doorknob. Axel inspects the doorknob and notices that there is some dirt on the object so he takes it to the bathroom and cleans it in the sink with warm soapy water. After doing this he dries the doorknob and walks back to his room. When he gets there he sits on his bed and inspects it again but this time he sees some numbers "51.5294° N, 0.1269° W" Axel mutters to himself. At that moment Axel knew this wasn't the doorknob from the rent office it was a doorknob from Earth. He had never seen coordinates but he knew what they were. Axel quickly wraps the object in cloth and puts it back into the shoe box then he slides the box into the gap in the floor and replaces it with the loose wooden panel. Axel had a feeling that he had to keep this safe and go to wherever the coordinates lead. Axel lays on his bed and goes to sleep in the morning Luca and Zuzu come over and Axel is telling them about his findings. "So you're saying that the doorknob is not the one from the rent office" asks Zuzu. "Exactly. Now we have to go to wherever the coordinates are telling us to go" explains Axel. "So do you know where they pin pointing?" asks Luca. "No but I was looking at my portal book and it says all we have to do is write the coordinates into the drawn out circle" explains Axel. "I say we do it." says Zuzu. Luca nods in agreement so they all fly out of the window and go to an old wasteland. When they get there Axel draws out the portal circle and writes into it the coordinates which is on the doorknob. When Axel finishes he stands up straight and clicks his fingers when he does this a small ball of fire is levitating in the palm of his hand. Then Axel turns his hand and he drops it onto the the drawing. As soon as the fire hits the drawings the portal opens up and reveals a massive library. "Should we go through?" questions Zuzu. "We've gotten this far" says Axel. One by one they all step through the portal the last being Axel which makes the portal closes. "A massive library?" questions Luca. "Well I believe that in this library there is a door without a doorknob and when we insert the doorknob into the door, the door will open" explains Axel. "Ok then let's go door hunting" jokes Zuzu. They all start to walk in different directions in the search for the door. But somebody is there watching. Axel decides to look for the door on the highest floor, Zuzu starts to search the main floor and Luca searches the basement. Zuzu walks down a hallway with book shelves on either side when she gets to the end of the hallway she discovers that it is a dead end so she decides to turn around when she does this the dark figure from the dance is standing there. "What are you doing here?" asks Zuzu. The figure doesn't answer and in that second he grabs Zuzu and puts his hand over her mouth making her pass out from air deprivation. Luca has searched all of the basement so he decides to go and find the others when he is just about to leave the basement he gets a vision of the dark figure attacking him and keeping as hostage. When Luca's vision ends he uses his super speed to find Axel but during his get away the dark figure gets in his way and Luca collides with the figure knocking him back and he is left laying on the floor unconscious. Axel turns a corner and then he sees some stairs leading to a door. Axel quickly runs up the stairs towards the door as he gets there Axel notices there is no doorknob. So he quickly reaches into his pocket and inserts the doorknob into the gap where it should be. It fit perfectly. Slowly turning the doorknob the door makes a reassuring clicking noise a gap appears between the door a door frame then Axel slightly pushes it opening then it reveals a small room containing a pedicel holding an ancient book. Axel slowly walks up to the book and he opens it blowing the dust off the pages he starts to read it. Then he knows that he has to show the others so he quickly grabs the book and runs out of the room closing the door and taking the doorknob with him. As soon as he gets to the last step he sees the haunting figure over the banisters on the main floor looking up at Axel standing next to Zuzu and Luca laying there senseless. "What have you done!?" shouts Axel. "You can clearly see what I have done you moron and you know that all I want is that book" says the figure. Axel looks down at the book and throws it to the figure. The haunting beast catches the book and shoots off in a flash to somewhere else. Axel jumps over the banisters and floats down to the others. Axel opens a portal back to the castle and he lifts both Zuzu and Luca and he takes them through the portal and puts them on his bed. A while later they regain consciousness and they go home. Then Axel sits on his bed and gets out the door knob from his pocket and he starts to stares at it.
