Broken

Chapter 13.

When I woke up, I saw the bed empty.
My headache was still there,but it was bearable.
I get up and go to the bathroom, doing my morning routine. When I get out, I see Cale in the sitting room texting on his phone.
"Good morning" I say tiredly. He looks up and smiles, his smiles sends chills through my body. I don't like him that way right? I can't ! He has a girlfriend!
"Good morning" he says back. "Shall I prepare breakfast while you change in something more comfortable?" He says chuckling, eyeing my last night clothes. They looked baggy. I turned to a reddish colour, feeling my cheeks heating. "Yeah, thanks." I say and don't wait for his replay.
I run back to my room and lock the door. I can't believe I made a fool out of myself. Even though he was wearing last nights clothes, they fit him perfectly. His hair was a mess,his eyes tired. Oh why am I so stupid? Why the sudden interest in him? I have known him for some months now and I haven't seen him more than an annoying person. Why am I overthinking my emotions? He is just my friend. Yeah! Just a friend. With that in mind I change my clothes, combed my hair and opened the door. The smell of food hits my nostrils making my stomach to churn. I haven't had a good breakfast in months. I walk to the kitchen to see Cale wearing Kieran's chef clothes and cooking.
He looks at me and sends me again one of his Cale signature smiles.
"You look beautiful" he says. My mind goes blank. What can I say back to that? You look handsome yourself? My stomach dances with butterflies while my cheeks heated.
Cale does not say anything and mostly ignores it. Thank Godness to that.
"The food smells good. Hadn't had a proper one in months" I say and I feel like punching myself. Really May? I hadn't had one proper breakfast in months?
He looks at me, his smile went out of the window.
"Why?" He says. "I...um...well" I start saying but he cuts me off.
"No need. You will have one right up" he says while he takes out plates and puts the good smelling food in it.
I sit down onto the chair and he puts my plate down. He did put everything for a breakfast.
"Did you just do a British breakfast?" I ask giggling.
"You never tried it!" He says laughing.
"Well I was not expecting this" I say but I start eating, savouring every bite.
We laughed and said stories while eating that I didn't even notice when we finished what was in our plates.
"Oh, I just remembered The tea!" He says feeling embarrassed.
"No problem, I can make some" I went to get up. "No! I can do it" he says. I raise both my eyebrows.
"Why?" I ask. He chuckles.
"Well I don't come here everyday, I can work this time while you just sit there." He says and I say an okay.
Clips of last night flash in my head. Drinks, people dancing, kissing. Me drinking while laughing with Cale.
I can't remember much,my head hurts already. So much for not drinking.
"You okay May?" Cale asks nervously.
I blink twice. "Yeah, I am fine" I say smiling.
"We need to find you a job pronto" he says chuckling, I nod my head.
" You never told me why you came to this highschool after all" I ask curios.
He chuckles. "Well I heard there are hot chicks here" he says winking. My cheeks burn again.
"Asshole" I mumble.
He barks a laugh, rolling his head back.
"That's not a fine word there Ms.May" he mocks me, making me narrow my eyes at him.
"Tell me the real reason." I ignore his mocking.
"Okay, I had a cousin here. He told me to come here." He says looking away.
"What happened to your cousin?" I ask, seeing his expression sore.
"He was a great man." He says ignoring me.
I eye him, his eyes turned red, his cheeks flushed. "Excuse me." He gets up and storms out of the kitchen.
Did his cousin die? Something bad must have happened to that poor man.
I remember myself when I would act like him whether hearing Kieran's name.
It took him some time but he came back.
"I am sorry for storming like that." He says and I give him a smile.
"No problem."
"I..I need to go. Leigh must have called me, I didn't charge my phone. I might get in trouble if I don't call her." He says getting up. My smile disappears.
Leigh is quite the person, she reminded me of Vanessa in many ways. Vanessa was beautiful too, she was a bitch to anyone. I haven't seen her since the Kieran accident.
I look down, nodding my head.
"Come here." Cale opens his arms wide.
I smile and walk up to him hugging him, it feels so nice to hug someone.
We stay like that for a few minutes, then we withdraw from each other slowly.
"Call me later." I say and he smiles.
"Okay." He says and I walk him to the door.
He walks out and I close the door, my back hits the door and I slide down.
I know what this feeling is, and I don't like it. I am falling for Cale. That is so wrong of me to do. He has a girlfriend for crying out loud. I cannot fall for him. I get up and walk to my room, taking my jacket on. I put my snickers on and I go to my car. I need to visit Kieran.

I sit down beside the grave, my hand tracing it.The flower I bought were sitting on it beautifully.
"Kieran-" I say looking at his name, a smile playing on my lips.
"-first thing I want you to know is, I always loved you. And always will."
I look up to the sky. " I like to think you are up there looking at me, being happy. "
"That you may be proud to see that I am not crying or hurting myself when I am here" I keep silent. Time passes slowly.
"The second thing I want you to know is,I have a problem." I close my eyes. I won't cry.
"Remember the guy I always tell you about?" .
"He has a girlfriend, but I like him like a lot" I say looking down, opening my eyes.
"Isn't it weird how history repeats?It is like life wants to play with me." I say.
I hear my phone vibrate, I take it out. My hand is shaking, Cale's number is displayed.
I slide my finger against the screen, and put the phone against my ear.
"Hello?" I say slowly.
"Hey May, Where are you?" He asks. I look at Kieran's grave.
" I am home, why?" I ask.
"Well, I am in front of your door but, you are not answering." I freeze as I hear his words, I stay put. No sound comes out of me.
"Where are you May?" He asks again.
"At the grave yard." I close my eyes.
The line is silent for a few minutes.
" I am coming there." The line goes dead. I look at Kieran.
"Looks like we will have company." I say quietly.

I am really sorry for updating so late. I had exams and writers block for the past weeks. I know it's not an excuse since it's been a month. But I promise to try harder.
