Fatal Romance

Chapter 6

Natayshia's POV.

Most of the pack left after I dismissed them but some of them remained to congratulate me on finding my mate. A few asked questions about how exactly we met and what our plans may be but seeing as how I've barely had time to talk to Kelner about it I couldn't say too much.

Many of my pack members laughed when I told them how we met. In the Silver Claw Pack we've always acted more like one, very large close nit family than anything else. They know exactly how clumsy I am so for them it was absolutely hilarious to know I had been knocked on the ground in our first encounter. Well at least in the future I can use the line I actually "fell for my mate".

After that I introduced Kelner and his family to my parents and my younger brother Rackner. They seemed to get along well, I looked to see our mom's huddled together and talking in hushed tones, probably planning our wedding already, I think as I roll my eyes. Mom's- but what can you do? I know both of them have our best at heart.

As I had said earlier we would only stay for an hour, my mom had kindly asked one of our pack members to go to our house and into my room to pack a bag for me. We walked to the entrance of the house, I grabbed the bag that carried all my necessities that was sitting by the door and walked with Kelner and his family to their car. I kissed my family goodbye and got in the passenger side. I looked back at my family and pack house as I waved goodbye.

About an hour and ten minutes later we passed the border to Kelner's territory, after another ten minutes we were pulling up to the pack house. It was absolutely beautiful, I could not imagine what it would be like living in this home. The house gave off this warm and inviting feeling that was undeniable, and I could feel it invite me in with open arms.

I was so distracted by the house I didn't even notice Kelner had gotten out of the car and was now opening my door to let me out. I was pleasantly surprised, I had not been expecting such gentlemanly behaviour. It was actually rather sexy; Kelner then put his arm out waiting for me to take hold so we could walk into the pack house together. I got up and wrapped my hand around the crook of his elbow.

At our entry I could see many people walking around talking and could to hear rowdy laughter coming from a room at the end of the hall. We kepting walking and with each step I looked around the house in wonderment. I noticed the further we went the quieter it got as pack members began to notice me. I noted that the pack has not known I was coming, although it was strange I rather liked it as it allowed me to see how everything was on a normal basis.

The further we went the closer we got to the room where I heard the laughter coming from, I could see there was a tall set of stairs on the other side of the wide hallway leading upstairs to where I assume would be the bedrooms of pack members.

We walked right to the room with the rowdy bunch, which now I could see was a very big living room. Upon our entry the whole room went dead silent except for the tv that was still on. I took my eyes away from its perusal of my surroundings to see everyone staring at us. I tried my best to not show how nervous I was and kept silent. After some time one person spoke up "Kelner buddy, who is the drop dead gorgeous woman you have with you?" It seemed like an innocent enough question as I was being compliment, and I tried my best to not burst out in laughter. To my surprise I heard a loud growl coming from beside me.

I looked over at Kelner to see that he had a deep frown on his face and was staring darkly at the man who made the comment. The man in question had his hands up in a submissive gesture and stared widely at my mate.

Kelner didn't even open his mouth to introduce me, so I took a deep breath for courage "Hello, I'm Natayshia Lincole. As I'm sure you've all guessed by now from Kelner's reaction, I'm his mate."

Everywhere I looked there were stunned faces, no one moved or said anything for five minutes. I coughed and right away everyone spoke up all at once.

No way dude, that's awesome!

Congratulations Kelner on finding your mate, she's beautiful.

When's the wedding?

So when are you to going to mate?! Cause man it's about time you had sex! I have no idea how you held off so long!

Each remark was different, most of them warm but as each person spoke my face flushed more and more in a deep blush at what some of the comments were. Especially that last one which was embarrassing but also scent a shiver down my spine knowing Kelner had waited for me. I looked over at my mate to see he was smiling hugely but had a tad bit of embarrassment on his face, probably from that last comment. When everyone crowded us he released my arm to give his buddies huge man-hugs and tenderly hugged the women in the room. Many of them even hugged me.

It was all a little overwhelming but I didn't mind it one bit. I could not have hoped for a better reaction. Everyone was so kind and welcoming.

Suddenly a throat was cleared and the whole room went quiet as they all turned in the direction of the sound.

I looked to the other side of the room to see another entrance, where a tall man stood and was staring in our direction. From the power that radiated off him I could tell he was powerful.

As I looked at him, his eye's bore into mine. This man was my mate's father. As his eyes continued to stay connected with mine he strolled over and stood right in front of me. I stood frozen unsure of what to say, or what he would do. My mate had said his father ran the pack with kindness and was a great Alpha but I also found him intimidating. My wolf and I would not back down though, as we were to be the next Alpha of our pack.

Suddenly I was wrapped in a warm, strong embrace. I stood frozen for a few minutes unsure of what was happening until I realized my mate's father was hugging me. I broke out of my frozen state and quickly wrapped my warms around him too. A smile graced my lips as I realized how nervous I was that he wouldn't accept me. This hug said it all, he accepted me as his son's mate and the future Luna of this pack, I could not be happier.

Want to know something funny but weird? My little sister, who is 17...ate baby food yesterday!! How weird is that?? I dont understand her. Haha
