Fatal Romance

Chapter 7

Kelner's POV.

To see my father hugging my mate is the most amazing feeling I've ever experienced. I was truly worried he was not going to like her. I wonder if my mother linked him as we drove into our territory. My father slightly pulls away from the hug and looks down at my mate, I could tell he accepted her; how could he not she is so beautiful and already shows the qualities of a great leader in her. The way she walked in and took charge of breaking the awkwardness in the room while also showing her sweetness was enchanting. I've never seen anyone handle this rowdy bunch so well, she was born for this.

I could see from the lingering rosiness to her cheeks that she is still embarrassed from some of the comments made by my pack, I'll have to speak to some of the men in my pack about their behaviour. If I'm being truthful with myself, also to have them know what is mine. Hopefully soon I can have her mated and marked quickly, I've waited too long to find her. It makes me anxious to know that anyone can take her away from me with only a quick bite on the neck. She will be mine -I can feel my wolf Valen growl his agreement. "She will be ours Kelner, even if I have to take over your body to get it done, I will. I know her wolf wants the same thing too", my wolf has always been a little -no, a lot more aggressive them me. He always follows his instincts without question and occasionally doesn't think of consequences. "Valen, if you do something stupid and get our mate mad at us I will not let you out at all. We don't need you doing anything stupid that you will only later regret." He grunts in my head "she can't stay mad at us for that long. She's our mate, she can't resist our beastly charms." I roll my eyes, "You're weird, you know that?" I hear a chuckle in my head but he doesn't respond as my father has started speaking to me.

"Kelner, let us convene to your office so we can sit down and chat. We have some things to discuss about all this, private would be best" he says with a slight smile on his lips. I nod in response grabbing Natayshia's hand and lead the way to my office. The moment we walk in a smile makes itself known on her face, her eyes drift around the room not leaving anything left unseen. She looks at me, "this room is so welcoming and from what I already know of you, it seems to really suit you." I smile at this, although we haven't known each other too long I like that she can sense the kind of man I am. I hear the door close behind me and turn to see that my father has finally entered. He nods at me motioning for me to take the lead, I walk around my desk to my seat, my hand still holding Natayshia's and sit down. I feel her trying to release my hold, probably thinking she should sit in one of the chairs opposite of mine but I have other ideas. With one sharp tug I pull her towards me and she falls against my chest, I move her so she sits in my lap comfortably and look down at her "you are sitting with me, baby. Just let me hold you, please." Instead of answering I feel her relax against me and remains silent.

I begin to speak "okay, well although you met her in the living room you haven't offically been introduced. Father, this is my mate Natayshia Lincole, Natayshia this is my father Luca, Alpha of the Red Wolf Pack." Natayshia gives a bright smile, "It is nice to finally meet you, sir." My father waves away the formality "please, call me Luca. You are soon to be Luna of this pack. I assume you will be living with us indefinitely?" I feel her stiffen "well about that Si-Luca, you see I am soon to be Alpha of my pack. You understand that I can not abandon them just because I found my mate. I have a responsibility to them. Although I do have my brother, he was not born to be Alpha. I, being the oldest and with the stronger Alpha gene, the role has passed onto me."

My father's eyes quickly connect with mine, "well then we are in a bit of a pickle here. Have you two discussed what you will do about your...situation?" I shake my head, "no we have not", my father lowers his head nodding in thought, well I shall leave you two to it then. I hope you can figure everything out. I'll make sure no one disturbs you" he says with a hint behind his voice, I know exactly who he is thinking of and I am grateful, I do not need them mucking up things with Natayshia.

Once he leaves, my mate turns to me and says quietly with her head down "I hope you understand I can't abandon my pack, they are my family and I love them. I know you need a Luna but I can't leave them, if you have to reject me I understand." I'm shocked, why would she think that way? Slowly I lift my hand and tilt her head up to me with one finger "I would never ask that of you, it would not be fair of me to expect that of you. How can I ask you to do something if I am not willing to do it myself? Just so we're clear, I would never reject you. Even in these few hours you have become precious to me; you are my other half that makes me whole. It would be as if I were to deny myself."

I watch as the tears that were already pooling in her eyes begin to fall. I quickly gather her closer into my arms "Please love, don't cry, you have no idea how hard that is for me to see" I quickly turn my head and tenderly kiss just above her forehead. I just hold her as she cries for a few more minutes and feel the moment when the worry leaves her body. She turns her face to mine and learns in so close, if she moved two inches closer her lips would press against mine "thank you Kelner, I was so worried about all of this. You have washed my fears away" and with that she removes the two inches between us and presses her lips to mine in a sweet kiss.

Awe, this moment is filled with such sweet moments (wipes away a tear). Does anyone else want a Kelner? One moment he's filled with sexual heat and the next he's winning over her heart. Sigh, oh the romance in the air...
