Hazel's POV:
Where should I put my bags while I'm out looking for jobs and roommates? I thought to myself as I walked off the bus that took me to my freedom. I looked around the small town of Rhode Island that I will be living in from now on. After taking a while to decide, I started on my way.
As I was walking down the white bricked sidewalks I came across a book store with a 'Help Wanted' sign. I smiled and decided this would be my go-to. I opened up the scent of green apples filling my nostrils. I scanned the room and took in the sight.
There was a small desk in the corner to my right, assuming that was the check out desk. There was three rows and above each row was two signs that read different genres of books. In the back I could sort of make out some more books that looked to be children's books and any type of biography. The floor was carpeted and a mix of dark blue, dark red and tan making it look speckled. The walls were a dark peach and the ceiling was a dirty white.
"Can I help you?" A voice asked behind me. I turned around and came face to face with a small girl with shoulder length blond hair.
"No, I'm just looking." I said.
"Okay." She replied, before slowly turning on her heel to walk away, but I stopped her.
"Actually, I do need help." I said.
She turned back around, "With what?"
"Do you have to have a collage degree to work here?" I asked.
"Probably not, I mean I work here so." She said.
"Oh, okay, well, I noticed that you had the 'Help Wanted' sign, so I was wondering if I could apply for the job." I informed.
"You don't want to work here." She said, going behind the counter.
"Why not?" I asked, furrowing my eyebrows and coming up to the counter.
"Because, this place is a total dump, it will have to be closed down because we have no costumers, and my mom will treat you like a baby." She explained.
"Well, I need money." I said.
"Alright if you want to." The girl said holding her hands up in defense.
"Thanks." I said.
"Okay so first off what is your first and last name?" She started.
"Hazel Grey." I said
"Do you have experience working at a book store?" She asked.
"No." I said. looking down knowing for sure she won't hire me. She continued with the questions for about five minutes.
"Okay, I'll have to go through this will my mom, come back tomorrow okay." She said.
"Will do." I replied. I made my way to the door and exited, making the green apple scent go away.
Hopefully I will get the job.

I dragged my bags to a small children's park near the bookstore so I could rest my feet.
I sat down on the wooden bench and scanned the area. There was a swing set about 10 feet away from me. About 5 feet in front of me was a slide and next to the slid a foot away was a sand box with a few sand box toys scattered in it a little ways in front of the sand box and the slide was two seesaws.
On the slide was a kid, just sitting there picking his nose while two other kids were on the seesaws.
I cracked a smile, knowing that I haven't been on a seesaw in a long, long time.
