Claire rested her head on the steering wheel of her car as she sat debating on going into Barry's home. The news update on the radio worried her...
Tall Oaks under an attack? Leon...
There was a knock on Claire's window that made her jump. She turned her head and saw Barry standing there smiling at her. She rolled down the window. "Hey Barry." She said smiling. "You scared me."
"Oh, haha!" Barry said smiling at her. "I just noticed your car and was wondering if someone was wrong so I came to investigate."
"Oh." Claire bit her lip. "I was just thinking. Did you hear about Tall Oaks?" She unbuckled her seat belt as Barry opened her door. She swung her legs out and stepped out on the sidewalk.
"I did." Barry nodded. "Isn't that where Leon and the President are? The news is all over it."
"Do you know what it is?" She asked grabbing her gift and handing it to him.
"I can take a wild guess..."
"Please don't." Claire said rubbing her temple. "I really don't need that stress."
"Are you stressed out?"
Claire nodded and the two made their way up the driveway to the front door. "Leon's dog is such a troublemaker." She lied. "Probably just misses his handsome face." Claire smiled then realized what she said and opened the door quickly walking into Barry's house.
"Handsome face?" She heard Barry mumble as she walked into the living room, right before she was nearly tackled to the floor by Moira.
"Claire!" She smiled at her happily. "I missed you!"
Claire laughed, "I missed you too!"
"How are things with Leon? Are you two a thing yet?" She smiled a teasing smile.
"I knew it." Barry said walking by.
"Uh..." Claire looked around. "No." She looked out the window. "Still trying to be noticed." She sighed. "And shut it Barry!" She glared at him.
She heard Barry chuckled as he walked up the stairs.
Claire laid on her back on the couch with her hands together and rested on her stomach. It wasn't too chilly, actually kind of warm, but it was nice to have Leon's dog resting on her feet. She didn't feel so alone that way.
"How are you doing, Leon?" She said aloud. She rolled over making the dog jump off her feet and onto the ground beside her. She looked at her and smiled, "He likes you, how do I get him to like me?"
The dog, Lily, just licked Claire's hand out when she went to pet her. Claire smiled, "Right, you're a dog. I am not. Maybe if I was a dog I wouldn't have this problem." She sighed again and yawned. "You hungry?"
Lily just sat silently staring at Claire.
"I'll take that as a yes." She got up and dumped some food in the food bowl. She then turned off the kitchen light and walked back into the living room where she threw herself onto the couch and buried her face in the pillows she had brought with her. She fell asleep shortly after.
