Waiting

Claire laid lazily on Leon's couch as his dog slept by her feet. It was strange being in his apartment without him there. She'd been over a few times, but he had left as soon as she showed up that morning. It was now six at night. 

So many things were always running through Claire's head. Why did he ask my to do this? Why did he have to ask me on a date just to ask me if I could watch his animals? What was wrong with him? What's wrong with me!??!

Claire sat up as her cell phone starting buzzing her pocket. She took it out and sighed seeing Barry's name on the screen. She was hoping it would be Leon. "Hello?" she said.

"Hey Claire!" Barry said somewhat happily into Claire's ear.

"What's up?"

"Are you busy tomorrow?" He asked.

"No, I'm only pet sitting for Leon."

"Ah alright. Do you want to come over and see Natalia? We're throwing her a small birthday party tomorrow and she wants to see you."

Claire thought for a moment. She could use the time away from Leon's place to get away from thinking about him. "Sure." She said after a few moments.

"Alright! See you then." He hung up without waiting on Claire to say by. Claire growled at her phone and put it down on the table. 

Claire woke up in the morning to her phone buzzing. She glared at it, it was her alarm to make sure she fed Leon's dog. She stood up and poured some food into the bowl then made sure that the dog had water. She then walked into the bathroom and cleaned herself up and changed her clothes.

"Maybe I just have to wait." Claire said to herself in the mirror. "Maybe he just is waiting himself..." She bit her lip. She hated waiting. 

"Just wait, Redfield." Claire looked at herself in the mirror, but closer this time. "He's just a guy, you'll be fine waiting forever!" She smiled at herself then walked out of the bathroom to put her shoes on. She needed to leave early for Barry's, she had to get a gift.
