O N E N I G H T S T A N D
Milan woke up just past seven o'clock in the morning. Today was her best friends wedding and she was excited. Meeca and Jaydin had an endless, powerful love and Milan was happy they were spending their lives together. She woke up her kids before getting them dressed. Everyone participating in the wedding had to be at the church at eight o'clock, not a minute late. Whereas everyone just watching the wedding would be arriving at nine thirty. Milan brushed her teeth and pulled her hair in a high ponytail before grabbing her car keys off the counter and getting inside the car.
A'lijah sat in the passengers seat still asleep while A'liyah ranted on about how excited she was that she was the flower girl. Milan listened to her little girl talk about wearing shoes with a small heel for the first time and her "Cinderella" dress.
"Mommy you should have a wedding so I can be your flower girl." A'liyah chuckled to herself.
Milan looked at her through the mirror then quickly looked back to the steering wheel. "Mommy will probably get married soon, hopefully."
While driving, Milan couldn't help but to think about her love life. All her friends had longtime boyfriends, fiancés and husbands where she was the only single and alone one. Coming home to herself at night honestly felt the worse. Not being able to roll over in the middle of the night and wrap her arms around her man was taking a toll on her. Not to mention, she hadn't had sex since the time she conceived the twins. So she couldn't speak about a love life, cause hers was nonexistent.
She pulled up to the church and parked in the parking lot. A couple people were standing outside setting up the entrance. Milan got out the car with the twins and grabbed all her stuff before heading in. Meeca's brother took A'lijah to get dressed up with the guys while Milan and A'liyah went to the girls dressing room to get hair, makeup and their outfits together.
The hair stylists started on two girls at a time while the makeup artists started on Meeca and Milans faces first since they were walking out first. Milan was more than excited to be Meeca's bridesmaid.
"How you feelin'?" Milan asked Meeca.
Meeca sighed. "I feel overwhelmed but I'm happy. I've been waiting for this very moment since eight months ago when Jaydin proposed to me. I can't wait to marry him. It's crazy that I'm about to he somebody's wife, I honestly didn't think I would get married at twenty five but I'm happy to be spending my life with him, he's amazing."
Milan chuckled. "I'm happy for you Ameeca."
The rest of the time was spent laughing with the girls, reminiscing about old times while getting dolled up. Once everyone was dressed and the time for the wedding to start was approaching, the girls all lined up and said a prayer before heading out. The door opened and A'liyah and A'lijah walked down the aisle. A'liyah was the flower girl and A'lijah was the ring bearer.
The music started and each couple walked down the aisle. Milan walked down the aisle with her arm draped with Meeca's brother arms. The church was filled with people. A slow song was being played by the pianist while everyone walked down. In the distance, Milan seen someone too familiar. She squinted her eyes and that's when them eyes from six years ago met hers. She felt her body shut down as he just looked at her and turned his head. Milan didn't know if he remembered her or not but she damn sure remembered him. She stood on the side of Meeca and watched as Tyreek blew a kiss to someone in the crowd.
