O N E N I G H T S T A N D

Five months later,

Today was the day. For five long months, Milan haven't been able to touch Tyreek. Their conversations were either thirty minutes on the phone or an hour in front of a glass. She hadn't touched him in what felt like forever. Finally, his court hearing was today. For the past five months Milan couldn't wait for this day. Her heart ached in anxiety and nervousness. Tyreek was looking at life for the murder of Damien Wilson. For months Milan asked herself, was it all worth it? Was Tyreek wrong for the slaying of Damien? She had so many unanswered questions. But right now, being there for her man was more important.

Milan got dressed while listening to the hard rain hitting against her window. The weather was disgusting which made her feelings even worst. She got dressed in her tight black slacks, white button down shirt and black heels. Her hair was pulled back into a low bun and she wasn't wearing any makeup. To prepare herself for this day mentally, the kids were with the babysitter since she hadn't spoken to Meeca in days. They didn't really know what was going on. All they knew is one day their father was here and the next, he wasn't. Milan couldn't prepare herself to tell the twins the truth. It was too much. Tyreek had already missed six years of their lives and now here he was again about to miss a couple more years.

She left her house on time and got inside her car. She started up the car and drove downtown to the court house. While driving, she thought about so many things. Her life was perfect months ago. It was crazy how just in a short matter of time, everything was bad. All Milan wanted was Tyreek home with her and the kids. She dreamed of having more kids with him while living in their nice home and driving their fancy cars. Those dreams were shattered. She excused her thoughts as she pulled up in front of the court house. Milan got out the car and met up with Tyreek's family.

"Let's pray." Tyreek's mother said gathering everyone together. Everyone huddled up in a circle and bowed their heads with their eyes shut.

"Father, I thank you for the promise that when I call unto you, you will answer me and show me great and mighty things which I know not. Lord, even as my child is facing this court case, I declare that no weapon formed against him shall prosper and that every tongue that rises up against him in judgment, you shall condemn. I thank you father that you establish him to the end, keep him steadfast, give him strength, and guarantee his vindication. I bless you father because you are my warrant against all accusation or indictment so that my baby will be guiltless and irreproachable in the name of Jesus. Lord God, contend with those who contend against him and fight those who fight against him in the name of Jesus. I thank you that you are watching over this case to perform it in the name of Jesus. Amen."

"Amen." Everyone said in unison.

Milan and Tyreek's family headed inside the court house and went in the first door where Tyreek's case would be held. Everyone took their seats and sat quiet as the case took place.

Two hours later, the hearing finally was completed. Milan held her stomach as she cried while walking out the court house. Tyreek was found guilty and was sentenced to twenty five years in prison. The tears continued to fall as her legs became weak and she dropped to the floor. Her heart was broken, shattered in millions of pieces.

The End.

Authors Note: The book is finally a wrap. I have so much things left unsaid so I've decided to make a sequel. The sequel will release all details and everything that wasn't told in the last chapter. It'll be released within the next week or so. So be on the look out. I haven't decided the name yet. What should I name it? Message me suggestions!! Thanks for reading!
