O N E N I G H T S T A N D
Three days after the wedding and things were now back to normal. A'lijah was still suspended from school and ofcourse A'liyah was in school. Tyreek hadn't called or sent Milan a text so she didn't know if he even cared. She couldn't dwell over him because there was still a life she had to live. She sat at her work desk and got prepared for her court session tomorrow. Simian was looking at a month in jail now that his jail time was reduced since there was evidence that the woman laid hands on him as well.
A'lijah sat down in the corner on his iPad to keep himself occupied while Milan worked. She couldn't leave him at home all alone since he was only six and with a mind like his, he'll probably burn the house down. So she had no choice but to bring him to work with her. Her boss agreed only if A'lijah agreed to be quiet and don't disturb the workplace. Her phone vibrated and she picked it up hoping it was from her bestfriend Meeca. Except a unknown New York number appeared on her iPhone six screen.
347-555-1088: Wassup ma
Milan knew it was Tyreek. A smile crept up on her face as she picked her phone up and sent a message back to him.
"Hey, how's it going?"
A minute later, her phone began to ring. The same number that texted her appeared.
"I'll be right back. Don't move." Milan said leaving her office and standing outside the door. She didn't want A'lijah hearing her conversation because he was a very smart kid and probably would put all the pieces together. She swore he would make an amazing detective.
"Hello?" His deep, raspy, voice spoke through the speaker.
Milan placed the phone closer to her ear. His voice instantly made her wet down there. She didn't know if it was because she hasn't had a man in a while or if she was just aroused. Whatever it was, she liked the feeling but knew she had to put that in the back of her mind. For one, he had a girlfriend he's been with for years and two, she didn't want to go back down that road and get her heart broken. "Hey."
"What chu doin?" He asked.
"I'm at work, I had to talk to you outside." She answered.
"Oh aight, well I'm tryna get this DNA shit started. What I gotta do?"
"I'll go down to the clinic today. Can you come to Philly or you want me come out there?" Milan asked.
"Nah it ain't right for you to come out here. My girl gon' be trippin." He chuckled.
Fuck your girl. She thought. "Oh alright well I guess you'll come out here because both parents have to be together when they take the DNA."
"Cool, send me the address and I'll pull up."
Milan smiled to herself. "Okay, I'll text you a little later."
"What they doing?"
"A'liyah's in school, A'lijah's here with me." She answered again.
"Why he ain't in school too?"
"He beat up some kid." Milan laughed, realizing how ridiculous she sounded.
