When I came home I raced to my room to get ready. I didn't want to be wearing my muddy clothes when I met with this mystery person. It could be a cute boy. I blushed to myself.  I put on something a little nicer that made me look almost pretty. I even added makeup to my pale face and pulled my hair out of the messy bun it usually was in. It flowed down my back in dark waves.

I looked in the mirror and was impressed by the reflection for once. I had rushed through getting ready that I still had plenty of time before I was supposed to meet the anonymous person.

I went out into the kitchen to find my grandmother cooking supper. I live with her. We don't talk much. Especially not after what happened.

"I'm going out tonight." I told her. I figured she probably wouldn't care. She never really seems to care what I do. I also was sixteen now though.

"Oh. Someone invited you somewhere?" She asked looking shocked. Even my own grandma knew I had no friends.

"Yes, someone did." I didn't want to talk to her about this or have her ask me questions so I left to watch TV.

After I ate I went to my room to grab my bag and the note. I was a little early but I left anyway.

I walked to the clock. It was fall and starting to get cooler, and darker sooner.

I got there and stood alone underneath it. No one was there. Yet. I began to worry, what if no one was coming. What if I am stood up and that was the plan all along. I don't think I could take any more practical jokes.

It was 8:15 and my worrying deepend. 15 minutes isn't that late but I didn't want to stand around. This person was obviously not that serious about meeting with me. Maybe I wasn't important enough.

Just as was about to turn around and leave, I saw a dark shadow walk towards the clock. My heart pounded. I was excited. Maybe I am important enough. I could feel a smile on my face as a sweet looking girl about my age walked up to me.

"Hey I'm Lora." She seemed so pretty and nice. Almost too good to be true. I could still myself smiling brightly.

"Hello." I replied cautious at first. "You wanted to talk to me?"

"Yea, you want to come back to my place though? My car is right over there. Let's go." She motioned me towards her car and I followed her.
