"Darren, what are you doing here?"
"I came to speak to you... But as I can see your not alone." He stuffed his hands into his front pockets as he walked leisurely to me.
"Yeah well, I think it'll be best for you to.. To leave. I have dinner with his parents and I need my clothes." I told him; my throat clogging up at the sight of him.
"Right." He leaned forward to kiss my forehead but I dodge back. His face flushed when realized he had almost done.
"Uh.. Yeah... See yah Mel. Alex." He nodded and then turned and left down the sidewalk.
"That was.... Awkward." Alex chuckled. I nodded and went inside after unlocking.
Alex followed me upstairs, and into my bedroom where I grabbed undergarments, and went in search for a dress.
"You have a big room." He commented from outside the closet.
"Yeah? Thanks." I muttered.
I brought out like five dresses, tossed them onto the edge of the bed along with my undergarments. Alex picked up my bra, but I snatched it back and smacked the back of his head. He smiled sheepishly.
"What dress to wear." I thought out loud.
I picked up the dark red one and held it to my chest. Nah. To.. Sluttish.
I held up the olive green one, and tossed it back down. That was the one I wore to my cousins wedding. I was her maid of honor. Ewh! It's like a puke green. And I'm sure the color matched my face when she shoved fried octopus down my throat at the after party.
I grabbed the yellow one. It's cute. It's tight at the chest, and the waist and then glared at the knees. It has one seal on the left side with a darker yellow bow around the waist.
I pressed te pink one to my chest and immediately tossed it back down. That pink dress was the one that Darren picked out for me. It was strapless and just plum ugly.
The last one. Please be a keeper. I picked up the navy blue one. I held it at arms length as I inspected it. It was strapless, and had a brown belt that went around the waist. The length was a bit short; stopping a few inches under my butt, but it was decent.
The navy blue stood out on my pale skin which complied with my red hair. My eye color usually changed dying the seasons, and now their a green-blue color, very weird, but I like it, it seems unique.
"Ooh, I like it." My eyes snapped up to the full length mirror to see his blue eyes staring at me through the mirror. He smiled and pulled out his phone.
"It's already 5:03 so... But.. I have a question." He stood up.
"And what would that be?" I turned around and threw the dress on my bed with my undergarments.
"Why are you picking out a dress when you have the one in the car; that you just got.. today.?." He quirked an eyebrow.
"Well.. Like I said.. I'm afraid that the marks might.. Might just show; that's be embarrassing." I fiddled with my thumbs.
"No, it shouldn't be embarrassing. It's amazing that your still here. Do you know his many people actually survive shark attacks? Not much. Almost 99.9% most die. You're lucky, and those teeth scars.. Are a reminder that you are a miracle, a miracle to be alive." He said. Then chuckled.
"I need to stop watching soap operas with my little sister. That was too deep." He ran a hand down his face. I chuckled with him.
"So which one? The black one that is in your car, or.. This one?"
