*Zayn's POV*
Working at night was hard. Walking into that empty building when nothing happened was pretty boring. My steps echoed and my breathing bounced against the walls, carrying the sound along the place. Whenever I came near a window, I stopped. That was the only good thing about the job. The view was stunning.
The city was lit with many lights, it looked like fireflies or fairies from up here. The blurred lines of the cars moved fast. When one line ended a new one started. Colours mixed with each other. Yellow, orange, red, white and blue. It was the best view you could have. I quickly snapped a shot of it on my phone and send a text to that curly haired boy that ran around in my head.
To Harry
Nearly as magical as my night out with you. Can't wait to see you again. Hope you are sleeping peacefully. xxx Zayn
Ps: Can you chase the boredom away?
But no matter how much I despised the job, I needed it bad. It paid good money that I could put aside to save up for my own place. Seriously, I have to move out, even if it is to just keep my sanity in tact. My sisters mean the world to me, so do mum and dad, but I cannot spend my days with tea party's and them nearly killing each other whenever I'm home to get my attention. It doesn't work that way. Also them popping in uninvitingly in my room at random moments is not really annoying, but I some times need my own privacy. I want to be able to walk around in a towel when I just showered and do things on my own time. Now I always have to change into my clothes straight away, just in case they walk in. Yeah yeah, my friends tell me that they all have seen their siblings nude, but they all are nearly the same age. I'm 23, Safaa is 10, Whaliya is 14, I just don't find it very appropriate to see me that way.
Unfortunately, living on your own is expensive, especially in London. I counted it out though, another 4 months and I would be able to live on my own without having debts and still have enough money to eat and have fun until my next payment. Thankfully it's not that long anymore.
My thoughts were interrupted with an incoming text.
From Harry
My sleep was amazing. Unfortunately it's an early start today. We are having construction people over who are going to fix some fences and cages. It would be a disaster if the animals got out and since Liam wants those people out before the park is opened, we are all helping out. Ugh, so not a morning person. How was your shift? Still working? xxx Haz
Ps: I'd love to, when are you free babe?
To Harry
I need some sleep soon, my eyes are closing themselves. I don't feel like taking the bus today, don't think I will get out at the right stop. If you don't hear from me for days, who knows where I have stranded. Good luck on fixing everything, If I wasn't this tired I would help, but I can actually hear my bed call out for me. Got about 30 minutes to go, the shift was boring as usual. You saw my highlight. xxx Zayn
Ps: I'm off tomorrow and Wednesday actually. Apparently I have worked more hours than the other guards.
Harry didn't reply back, but I didn't mind. He was busy, he told me that. Probably around his break I would get another text. It was a daily routine now. I grabbed my bag and leather jacket when I heard the first people arrive at the office. The "ding" of the elevator was followed by 'hi', 'bye' and 'sleep well' from the people that passed me on my way out.
When I walked out the gate I saw a car with bright red letters: LONDON ZOO STAFF.
My heart nearly jumped out of my chest when I noticed a mop of curly hair behind the wheel tapping his fingers to the beat. I knocked on his window and he smiled the biggest smile.
