«VALERIA'S POV»
CHAPTER TEN"Ms.Maefield, school starts in three hours."
A muffled groan escaped my lips and my eyes fluttered open when a knock sounded on the door,"Okay Jane, I'll be up in a minute."
Jane, one of the housemaids, hummed behind the door in agreement and when I was sure she left, I glanced at my clock.
5:45 AM.
Yeah no, I thought as my face hit my pillow and I squeezed a circular pillow in my arms,
So not happening.~A little bit later~
"Valeria Sol Maefield, get your butt out of bed right now!"
"Five minutes Marta."
Unlike our newest employee, Jane, Marta wasn't afraid to push me off my bed to get me to wake up. Marta has been working for my family for as long as I could remember and she doesn't take any insolence from me. Though the forty year old Hispanic is attenuated, you can't let her hazel eyes and kind smile fool you for she has inhumane strength and a fiery attitude. She probably got her authority from having to discipline her four sons who are now either in college or have a family of their own.
But she's like a second Mother to me, she taught me Spanish and tutored me when I didn't understand homework and did so much more for me.A persistent humph came from Marta, "Ningun cinco minutos de la mierda, you're late to school!" She warned.
"What!" I yelped and shot out of my bed, rays of sun came through the window and I blinked rapidly,"Why didn't you tell me earlier?"
I squinted while putting on my slippers and innocence washed over her face. She covered her mouth,"Oops. Did I say you were late?" She giggled and started walking towards the door,"I meant you were going to be late if you don't wake up now. Ya son las seis, you might wanna hurry up."
I pouted as she strode out of my bedroom, satisfied,"Ugh I hate you!"
"Yo también te quiero, Vale." Her laughs echoed through the corridors.
I cleared my throat and planted myself on the edge of the bed, shivering because I didn't have my covers on. My eyes closed and I slouched.
"GET READY!"
"AHH!" I screamed and fell off the bed, landing stomach forward on the floor, allowing the cool air to surround me.
***
I walked down the stairs, new phone in hand and clad in a white, short-sleeved shirt, a navy blue and white floral shorts and black pumps.
My hair was let loose in wavy locks and I'd gotten my nail painted in a French manicure yesterday."Yeah Hadley," I sighed in boredom and finished stepping down the stairs,"You should totally wear that, it matches your eyes."
I heard complaining on the other line but rolled my eyes and pressed 'END'. That's the third time she called me today to talk about her outfit and I'm not the kindest morning person, so unless she wants me to snap at her she should pick out her own freaking clothes.
