Stronger Bonds

Weeks have passed, and we all enjoy being together, I've slowly gained their trust, and when it was time to come get me they would switch once in a while even though Splash is the one that mostly comes gets me. I was already waiting in the harbor thinking who would be this time. I look to the distance and see a white dorsal fin. Wait... Iceberg?! But he can't be out here it's dangerous. If someone sees him he'll be searched and hunted down. He slowly reached the harbor and did a spy-hop to look up at me.

"Iceberg.. what are you doing here? It's dangerous" I said

"It's alright, c'mom we must hurry," he said. He has the same speaking as his father does.

"Why you and not someone else?" I asked a little curious.

"Oh, you don't want me to come get you? Is that it?" He said offended.

" No! No! Nothing like that is just I was curious as I said is dangerous for you to be here" I said as I slowly get on top of him as he quickly turns around.

"It fine doesn't worry," He said assuring me.

I hold on into his fin as he dove. I was scared he swims faster than the others I barely could hold on. Eventually, we went to the surface for air.

"Can you slow down, I can't hold on and if I fall I could drown I don't know how to swim yet," I told him. He nod and kept going. We go down again and he was basically sprinting underwater again. It was too fast for me I slipped from his fin as he keeps going I slowly drowned I was panicking everything was turning black as I kept going more deeper. I was so scared, suddenly he comes and picks me with his flipper as we surface he lies down on his back and floats as I'm laying down and scoffing then I realized I was lying on his belly, I was catching my breath still shaking scared.

" I'm so sorry, are you alright?" he asked

"Yeah... *scoffs* I'm fine. I need to learn to swim and fast" I said

"Here I'll show you," he said as he turns around slowly as I still was holding his flipper

"Now I want you to kick hard, the easiest way is to do both your legs together like us. " I did as he told me.

"slowly let go of me, when you do use your hands with force to move you" I did and I was slowly moving it was so cool.

" Now let's try something else. Dive, I'll be with you all the way. " He said. I grabbed a big breath and dived as he told me. I was kicking both my legs together hard and using my hands as guides it went from the front to the back and I kept doing it repeatedly eventually I went up for air.

" Iceberg, that felt amazing!" I said excitedly

" See you did it like it was nothing. Practice a little bit more you'll get it. " He assured me

"Thank you" he nods.I slowly look back and realized we were close to Makani Island. I didn't realize I swim that much. Iceberg is beside me and I look into his eyes as we stayed locked in once more.

"want to go swim a little more, before we go into the lake? " I asked Iceberg. He nod. We both dive at the same time, I was going straight to the coral reef from the entrance of the tunnel towards the lake I get close to the tallest one there and see little seahorses swimming around it, I reached for one of them they close to my finger but then swam away scared. I Look up and see Iceberg in front of me, I smiled towards him he gives me back a small smile. I look towards the surface as I need air. He got closer to me as I wrap my hands around his beak he leads me towards the surface as we go he dopes turns I continue to smile as it was an amazing experience. We reached the surface I get air quickly.

"Thank you Iceberg, for everything," I said. We looked at each other I gave him a small kiss on his beak as a thank you. He looked at me in shock and I felt he got a little warm. He simply nodded. He went down and went under me so went he came back up I was on his back. I slowly back up so, I could hold on to his fin. We kept our course towards the lake see all the types of fishes again and slowly surface at the center of the lake.

"Iceberg what took you? " Anchor asked.

"We were worried sick," Ocean said in her soft voice.

" Don't worry he was showing me how to swim, I have to learn in case something happens " I explained to him.

" Cool now we can swim more together Lua," Splash said excitedly.

"Yeah but we have to take it slow I'm still learning," I said

" Then c'mon, here is perfect to learn," Ski said. I slowly get off Iceberg but never letting him go, I softly rose my finger in his face till his beak and dove towards Splash as she was waiting for me. Iceberg stayed behind and I noticed Anchor getting close to him.

" What's wrong son?" Anchor asked

"It's nothing father, it's just I feel something for Lua. She's unique and she makes me like me even with my condition. She's special in some way. I just don't understand what's this feeling. " Iceberg said. Anchor chuckled nudging him a little.

"Ooh you eventually will my son, you'll see. It's the most wonderful thing you'll ever feel" Anchor explained as Iceberg looks towards where we were a little confused. I Looked at him and made a motion with my hand to bring him over so he played with us. He hesitated at first but came towards us slowly. Troki threw him a pebble with his fluke it hit his head and he passed it to Ski and like that we continued playing the day away....
