Chapter 5

"But it doesn't work like this" I heard Trent's voice. I opened my eyes to a bright room. As my eyes scanned the room I realized that I was in the informatory. Needles were stuck in me with wires that ran from the end on the needle to a monitor. A constant beeping noise filled the quite room as it monitored my heart. Trent and Luce were sitting in couch in a engaging conversation. Everything from two days ago came flashing in my mind. Everyone discovering their power and them my powers becoming out of control, the entire school trying to control my powers, then my dad explaining what was going on, and finally the warm-powerful-welcoming power that surged through my body as a ball of fire with rocks and plasma rotation around it form around me.

I concentrated on the needled inserted in me and slowly I began pulling them out with my powers. The long three inch needles finally came out of my body and fell to the ground with a silent thump. The heat monitor went flat and did a long beep noise. At the sound of the long beep Trent and Luce were up on their feet making their way towards me.

"I hate needles" I told them as soon as they reached the bed

"I know you do" Luce gave me a bright smile

"How do you feel?" Trent asked

"Fine I guess" I felt great like nothing could harm me

"Do you remember what happened?" Luce asked me

"Yes but what is an epilegetai?" I asked remembering when my dad said we were the epilegetai

"We should go back to your dorm" Trent whispered

"We will tell you there" Luce added

"So what's an epilegetai?" I asked as we walked into my room

"Um I don't really know but I have heard stories that at the beginning of our time there was a huge fight to between different power witches one day a little girl prayed to Ares the god of war to make the war end between the different power witches in exchange she gave up her life. The gods saw her action and gave her their powers. She was originally a witch of fire, Hephaestus the God of Fire increased her powers, Poseidon the God of Water gave her the power of water, Gaia the God of Earth gave her the power of earth, Aeolus the God of wind gave her the power of wind" Trent made himself comfortable on my bed while Luce and I laid on Luce's bed.

"After a couple of months the war ended and all was at peace" Trent continued "but there was no sign of the girl ever again"

"Wait if she had all four powers why do I have only three" I wondered

"Some say that the gods came back down and took their powers back fearing she was too powerful" Luce explained

"We should get to class" Trent suggested

"I'll change and see you in class" I told him looking at the clock we had to go to second period

"Sure see you there" Trent closed the door behind him
