"This is 911, what's your emergency?" the operator says in that annoying voice.

"My.. my parents have been murdered!" I scream into the phone.

"What's your name, age and address," the voice says without emotion.

"Are you serious? My parents are dead and you're asking me stupid irrelevant things," I huff getting upset and angry. I know deep down it is relevant, but my body's in shock at the moment.

"Name, age and address."

"Ave Johnson, I'm seventeen and live in Rosewood street, number thirteen," I say quickly.

"The police and ambulance have been informed and are on their way. Please try to remain calm and don't panic," with a beep they hang up.

I glare down at my phone, and look up when I hear the sounds of sirens far away in the distance. I try to take a deep breathe but it's like there's no oxygen left for me to take. Hearing the sirens in the distance calms me a little, when they get here they can find out who did this and why.

My parents were very friendly people, they didn't have any enemies as far as I knew. I walk over to the two bodies, a hand to my mouth as I see how much of a mess they were. There were claw marks over their skin, bruises around their wrists and it was just a terrible sight. I lean down and touch my mother's cheek, she was gone and my father.. I shouldn't have gone with my friends.

I then notice something like ink swirls on her neck hidden by her hair, I gently move the hair aside to see a tattoo or mark looking thing. It looks like a V with a small circle in the middle so the two top bits looks like horns or something and the bottom a mouth maybe. I check my father's neck to see that it was there as well. I stand back up, looking down at my parents.

"I'm so sorry I left you guys, I shouldn't have gone. But I'll find out who did this to you," I tell them as I begin to hear the sirens coming closer. "I promise."

"Ave Johnson?" I wipe away my tears as I look up to see an officer standing in front of me. "I need to ask you some questions," he adds while the others go up the stairs and inside the house.

"Okay," I say nervously, I stand up brushing the leaves off my shorts. The officer looks to be in his late thirties, his brown eyes soften a little when he notices how scared I am.

"First you need to tell me everything that happened tonight."

"Well my family was getting ready for dinner around six-thirty, and I was talking to them about things. I asked them if I could go with my friends down to the beach.." I take a breath as I try to let it all out. "I left around seven and didn't come back home till half past ten. When I got home though I thought it was odd that all the lights were off because they usual leave the hall light on for me and my dad would be waiting outside."

I watch as the officer writes some things down on his notepad.

"The door was also unlocked which was unlike them, I went in and yelled out to them but they didn't reply. I then started turning on the lights and when I turned into the lounge room.." I start tearing up again.

"You saw the bodies?" I nod my head, trying to wipe my tears away but they wouldn't stop falling. "I understand that this must be tough for you Ave, and I'm very sorry for your lost," he continues. "So you were the first on the scene?" he asks. I nod my head to his question. "And is that your blood?" he asks pointing to my top, I look down to see lots of blood had soaked into my once white and very clean top.
