*Ali's POV*

Almost exactly 3 hours and 58 minutes until the ball officially starts. I have no one to impress, it's just me, myself, and I yet somehow, I feel extremely nervous.

Kyle was going to be here any minute to do my hair and makeup because anyone can do it better than me. It had to be perfect.

The dress was laid out neatly on my bed, the ruffles hanging off the bed ever so slightly. Right next to the dress was my mask. I ended up finding it at Walmart for cheap and it matched the dress perfectly. I had black elbow length gloves that were an option but I wasn't quite sold on them.

Everything was set out and ready to go. Everything should be perfect.

Butterflies still flew around in my stomach, swirling around carelessly. Why was I so anxious over a silly ball?

Kyle walked into my house, not even bothering to knock. He never knocks.

"Okay, you can put away your shrine of me, I'm here now." Kyle called as he ran up the stairs.

" Oh No! I've been busted," I said to him before opening my door for him.

Kyle smiled at me, "How are you Ali?"

"You say me yesterday!" I giggled at his folly.

"Fine, how do you want your hair?? Up or down?" He asked me seriously. He took off his backpack setting it beside the dress.

"Down."

"Okay, sit down." I nodded before sitting down on the chair that I brought into my room. I heard Kyle shuffling around my room looking for something. " Ali? Do you have a curling iron??"

"No, I don't. My mom might have one."

"It's fine I stole my sisters just in case." There was more shuffling behind me. "Here it is." Kyle plugged it in and set it down on the stand careful to make sure it wasn't touching the wood.

"Alright, Time to make you beautiful."

~ Three Hours Later ~

I touched my check lightly as I stared at the girl in front of me. She had beautiful coppery hair that was perfectly curled in cute ringlets. Her makeup was simple yet beautifully done, making her green eyes pop.

"Kyle is this some kind of magic mirror??"

He chucked at me and shook his head, "Nope, I'm just a miracle worker."

I gasped at him, narrowing my eyes at him. "Are you saying I was such a terrible charity case before?"

"Yea that's exactly what I'm saying. Come on that took me almost 3 hours to do."

"It wouldn't have taken so long if you didn't stop to go make lunch at your house!" I countered, a smile tugging at my lips. He shrugged, not bothering to argue with me. "I don't know how you know how to do this, but thank you for fixing my face, Kyle." I smiled at him, teasing him still.

"It was just a light touch of eye shadow and a little time with a curling iron, it wasn't hard at all." He leaned against my door frame with a lazy smile. "I think we have about an hour before you must be there. Go put on the dress so I can see my masterpiece come together." I smiled lazily at him before disappearing into the bathroom.

I walked out of the bathroom, looking at the ground. "I need you to tie the corset..." I felt my cheeks heat up slightly as he tugged on the strings. He backed up and was gawking at me.

"What??" I looked down at the dress, then back at Kyle. "Does it look bad??"

He shook his head quickly. "This is not fair... I can not fathom how you look so good and I did it."
