Waking up in the sand along a cold beach isn't the greatest. I felt sand everywhere; from in between my fingers to the grains clinging to my fine, chocolate hair. I wanted to run to a shower.
I groaned as I sat up quickly, ruffling my long locks to rid myself of the tan minerals. The wind that blew around me brought the smell of the fresh sea to my nose, which I loved.
"Aw, look who's finally awake," I turned to see all the boys staring at me, smiles on their faces as they watched me trying to stay awake. "Bulgogi?" Jin offered me a skewer that had a few pieces of the marinated beef stuck to it.
"Where did this come from?" I asked as I took the skewer from him, squinting from the heat of the fire and burning daylight.
"Jin and I drove to the store while you were sleeping," Taehyung said, ruffling my hair and letting some more sand fly out. "I remembered this was your favorite when we were younger."
I smiled at Taehyung, happy that he remembered something small like that. Taehyung is only a couple of months older than me, but when we were small he would act as if I was five years younger than him. He would always make me call him 'Oppa' or if someone was bothering me he would threaten them until it looked they would cry. Now, I barely saw Taehyung, but whenever I do he's always more distant and wanting to do his own thing.
"What else are we doing?" Jungkook asked as he licked his fingers clean of the meat flavor.
"No, no," I shook my head as they stared at me. "I need to study for that test tomorrow!" I reminded them.
"Wae," Taehyung rolled his eyes as he fell back onto the sand, chewing his last piece of meat. "That's so boring."
"Well, unlike you, I actually want good grades and not to get kicked out." I sighed, shaking my head. Taehyung is my friend, but sometimes I felt like he would be a bad influence on me if I am around him for long. This was another reason why we were growing apart. He wanted to run around and have fun while I wanted to graduate school.
Taehyung muttered something, but I didn't catch it. "Let's get you home then." Jin nodded. Soon we started to pack up the blankets and leaving behind our trash in the pit. Taehyung kept complaining the whole time as I refused to go out any longer.
I was an honor student and didn't want my reputation to become ruined because I decided to fail a test.
"I'm sorry Taehyung." I nudged him as Jin drove back to mine and Jimin's. A shrug was his final answer before he resumed staring out the window, watching the passing of cars and green-leaf trees.
Jungkook patted my left shoulder, causing me to look at him. He leaned closer so he could whisper into my ear. "Noona, he really misses you."
I furrowed my brows. "What do you mean?"
"He always asks if you'll hang out with us, but you're always busy with school or doing something else. He kept complaining to Jimin to bring you." He gave me a small smile.
I looked down at my hands that were folded in my lap, looking at the dark red paint on my fingernails. I didn't think Taehyung missed hanging out with me that much. I'm not used to this type of attention. Taehyung doesn't really share his feelings unless if it's excitement, adoration for something, or he's annoyed. Which, I see that he is now.
Jin pulled up outside of my home, making us, once again, get jerked forward and Yoongi to curse him.
"Thank you, Jin-Oppa," I smiled at him, making him reply with one as well. "Jimin, are you coming?" I asked as Jungkook got out so I could.
"Aniyo. I'm going to watch Jin drag race." All the boys, except Taehyung, hollered and had huge grins on their faces. Jin on the other hand looked very nervous but somewhat excited.
