Ona's Perspective
As I sat across from Irene, her twinkling eyes staring at me and her pale pink lips smiling, all I could do was have a blank mind.
We sat in an ice cream parlor with red and white stripes painting the walls, the intoxicating smells of sugary treats, and the loud noises of happy children. Of course, I didn't come here by myself to meet her. Mickey came as she wanted to understand what Irene wanted...if she wanted anything.
Mickey told me she didn't like Irene. When I asked why, she just said she wasn't a fan of anyone honing in on someone she liked.
"I thought you were bringing your boyfriend?" Irene asked me as she nodded to Mickey, who just sipped her chocolate milkshake.
"He's not my boyfriend and he's....busy." I smiled a little but stared down at the plain vanilla bean ice cream that was melting slowly to make a pool of white cream.
"Oh, I just thought...," she trailed off. She played with her strawberry ice cream as she pondered. "The way he seemed to look at you I just assumed." She chuckled.
To be honest, it's been a week since Taehyung sent me that quick message. I need you.
I never did reply, so I was hoping to God it wasn't something terrible. Another reason why I haven't replied is because Jimin forbade it.
Jimin came home, sweat dripping down his hair as he had apparently walked all the way home and his eyes were wild as if he had just fought 100 men.
"What's wrong?" I had asked him as I looked up from my spot on the sofa, tightly wrapped in a wool blanket.
"You can't talk to him ever again." He told me, breathing hard as he headed towards the kitchen. I could hear the harsh noises of cups clanking against each other along with the loud noises of gulping.
I furrowed my brows as I threw the blanket off me to follow my brother into the kitchen. He was leaning against the fridge with a cup of water in his other hand. He had thrown off his loose white shirt to show his black undershirt, soaked with sweat.
"Jimin...are you okay? Who are you talking about?" I approached him, carefully placing my hand on his shoulder. Yes, it was sweaty but honestly, I wasn't worried about that.
"Him. Taehyung. Why would you skip school for him?" He asked, turning his warm brown eyes on me. I gulped as I looked down, scratching my arm in a nervous tick. "Your title means so much to you and yet now you're willing to throw it away for him."
"He's your best friend." I told him. He's never acted this way towards Taehyung. Yes, he's been mad at him before but never once has he showed a rage such as this.
"Was...until I realized he was manipulating my little sister into ditching school to do stupid things." He removed himself from the fridge, putting the cup down and staring at me. We were around the same height so I wasn't too nervous under his stare, but still, it held an icy coldness I couldn't feel comfortable with.
"But you were also keeping me from my studies when you made me hang out with you all over a month ago!" I argued. Why did I have to take a break from Taehyung? Because I was scared of what was happening? And did he tell Jimin what we did? "You didn't care if I went to a party when I had school the next day!"
"I admit. I was a terrible brother that thought you needed to open up more. Now I realized that mother and father would punish me if I let their little girl fail. So, I'm banning you from ever seeing him and from ever messaging him." He didn't even hesitate as he grabbed my phone from my front pocket, logging into my phone, and already deleting anything to do with his best friend.
