Coraline's (Bailey) P.O.V:
Red, blue and white keep appearing on my closed eyelids. I don't understand what happened. Beeping fills my ears. I try to get up. A pain shoots through my arm and head. I don't fight. It's for my own good, even though I don't really care about myself. Nobody really cares. I hear a soft whisper in the distance.
"Don't move. Don't fight." They say, trying to soothe me. I can handle myself, thank you very much. When someone says 'don't fight' it's a sign that either I'm losing or they're losing. It's a loss for someone. All my life that's all I've been doing. I can't stop just like that, or I'll die. It's a matter of life and death. I won't stop fighting until I know I won the battle. I feel someone's fingers on my stomach. My knee kicks in action and so I hit the person in the jaw with my knee. I hear an angry groan. I hate that voice. My eyelids shoot open. I know her. That badass.
"What am I doing back here?" I ask.
"Well first off, I don't want to be here as much as you do. Second off, you had a concussion so they brought you back to school. Third off, since you had so much blood loss, a part of your memory has been affected and so you can't remember some stuff about certain people." She explains. I sigh.
"What day is it?" I ask.
"It's almost midnight and tomorrow is Friday."
"Oh My God! My mission!" I shout. I jerk upright. A pain shoots through my arm. I had one of those blood injectors in my vein. My facial expression seemed pretty shocked.
"Like I said, you lost too much blood. Now lay down and I'll tell you what happened." So I do and she sighs. "So when you fell and got a concussion, Sadie called us. Lexi was having a memory attack and you fainted because of blood loss. They sent in a substitute because you damaged a part of your brain, and the doctors don't know how bad yet, so they're keeping you here until further testing has been done." She explains. We both sigh until the words process fully.
"WHAT! They can't do that! This is my mission and I'm not going to lay around becoming an experiment. Heck to the no... I'm going back out there no matter what." I say, getting up again. Pain shoots through my body and she looks concerned. Just then door to the medical room opens.
"Alright Emma. Thanks for waiting, you can go back into the surgery room and I'll take it from here." The nurse says. That's right, Emma is taking medical classes and I just found out. Who knew she could pull off such a cover. Obviously I didn't. The nurse takes over Emma's previous seat and looks at the papers stacked neatly on her clipboard. She glances at me and sighs. Looks like today is a day full of disappointment. I frown, wondering what could possibly be wrong now.
"You'll have to stay. Sorry agent Cora, but you're not in good condition."
"I don't CARE! I am going to go back out there and finish my mission. I am a human being and not some sort of experiment. If I was then you could probably test me, but now in THIS life, I'm a spy that has been given a mission. Now if you could excuse me, I have something to finish." I say, sitting on the slightly uncomfortable bed, waiting for her to undo these machine things from my body.
"I'll have to..." She starts but I cut her off.
"No you don't. There's no need to consult with Mr.Scott. Just tell him I'm fine and let me go on my way. How would you feel if a client of yours was under stress. You would want to help them right? So help me, I'm begging you with all my life." I say pleadingly.
"Alright," she says. "But on one condition, you need to hear me out." And I nod.
"You have my attention."
"Since your brain has been affected by the fall, your memory will start to trigger. You won't be able to remember some things at certain times and certain stuff about certain people. You'll have to take disinfectant pills every day. Emma is holding onto those until you go and get them from her. One pill each morning. They'll make you drowsy but you can manage. We dealt with the school and we pulled you out. About the pills, your bite is real deep so we had to make stitches and you caught an infection because you didn't take care of it, so that's what the pills are for," I stare at my wrist. Surely, it's covered in fabric and it feels painful underneath when I move it.
"Is that it?" I ask.
"I'm pretty sure, yup. If anything happens, call us."
"Sure thing." I lie.***
"So how did the testing go?" Sadie asks. I stare at her with wide eyes.
"How did you know?" I ask shockingly.
"The tests I requested until they agreed. I wanted you do be fully prepared to continue the mission." She explains.
It's Friday, and tomorrow is the day full of action. I'm so ready for this. My body is bolting of electricity, like when some people see bugs or when you get that chill down your spine because you're really excited. Well that's me right now.Alexia's (Sierra) P.O.V:
Flashback
"Hey kid, get over here." I walk over, slightly afraid when one of the men put their hand on a gun. I stop right in front of the desk.
"I'm here." I say sternly, trying to hide the fear in my voice.
"How old are you?" One asks, clearly finding an interest in me.
"10." I say in a curious voice. Why would they care.
"Then why are you carrying a gun?" Another asks staring at my sleeve. My eyes pop. How did they know? Am I THAT sloppy?
"So I am. Is that a problem?" I say stupidly. One guy gets from his chair and comes up to me. He places himself behind me and grabs the arm hiding the gun.
"Fight me now." The guy says. Little did he know what was hiding in my ankle. My ankle comes up, into my other hands reach. Before I could grab it, the guy flips me so I am back to back with this man, except I am upside down and gravity is on his side. I curse under my breath. I don't know if this guy is good or bad, so I'll just have to beat him up. I have an advantage right now. I put both feet up and smacked them against each other. The object comes flying towards me, sharp side coming to aim at my arm. I did this too many times. It comes closer and I catch it by the handle. Bingo. The guy is still carrying me, so I pull myself up. He tries to flip me back but I take the knife. My muscles hurt but it's either I die or I live. My feet are on his stomach, so I'm sitting on his shoulder. I take the knife and put it near his throat.
"Let me go or I'll slit your throat. I am capable of killing anyone, so I recommend that you don't test me." I say threatening. I feel a sharp object inject into my neck. The sharp metal object makes me shiver. I feel a cool liquid make its way through my bloodstream. I sense the needle slowly being retrieved. My muscles slowly stop working. I slam myself on the guy's back. My eyes shut.
"What did you do?" I whisper while I hear them laugh.
***
My eyes snap open. Holy crap. I hear splashes and wind busily making its way though the holes, then back out. I'm in a box. Holy crap. I shiver. Looking down at my crushed body, I realize my clothes are moist and I'm not wearing my sweater. I'm in jeans and a tee shirt. Surprisingly enough, I'm not cold but I get shivers just thinking about my life ending any second. The box is swaying back and forth which is very calming. The box keeps clanking against something. I squeak when I hear shuffling around me. Backing up, something stabs into my stomach. CRAP! My gut has a knife inside of it!End of flashback
I hear shuffling beside me.
"I guess it worked."
My eyes stay shut. I'm thankful the painful memories stopped. It hurt so much. I feel a sharp pain in my arm.
"Don't poke her!" I hear someone whisper shout. That's what it was.
"Sorry. I didn't know I can't."
"Just don't touch her in general." The voices say. I feel blood flow to my brain again. A painful migraine starts forming and I groan.
"Mamma, why I she groaning. Is she in pain?" A child's voice asks.
"Yes hon. Her blood stopped flowing and so now it's flowing back to her head." A woman's voice responds to the child.
"So does that mean the needle worked?" The child asks again. So that was the pain I felt in my gut.
"What happened?" A new voice adds.
Little did I know that it was my voice speaking.
"She's alive." The child's voice says.
"I never died." I say.
I sit up and I opened my eyelids, meeting the face of someone I only met once. Oh Lord. I faint.
