Goodbye?

School drifted by faster then I could even grasp onto.

The idea that it was Luke & Calum's last day made me sick, but I hardly talked to them.

Even though I didn't trust Gabby fully, it stuck in my head that Luke might've said stuff about me at the party.

Which is why he probably felt guilty enough to take you out...

It suddenly hit me that it was all a fluke.

That Luke actually hates me and it was a guilt thing.

But it didn't matter.

It was last class and it had already ended.

I was one of the few people left gathering things, along with Luke.

He was giving guys fist bumps and shoulder bumps, saying goodbyes.

Suddenly they left and I scurried up my things before Luke could speak to me.

When I got home, Mum was out so I flipped on the TV and started watching Teen Wolf.

Mum hates me watching it when she want to watch something else.

Suddenly the door bell rang so I got up and opened the front door.

Luke.

"Hey,"

He'd already changed into different clothes.

Behind him was black car and he jingled keys.

"Where you going?"

I knew he wasn't leaving to go to Sydney yet.

"Was gonna go get food. Wasn't gonna cook because of all my stuff...it's packed."

Luke seemed awkward and weird.

It burst out of me.

"Yeah okay. Um Gabby told me some stuff about you."

I leant against the doorframe and crossed my eyes.

"From the party." I finished.

Luke's face dropped and he shook his head.

"Nonono! Zoe you can't listen to the stuff!"

His words were pouring out.

"It it was all a lie! I was drunk okay?!"

He stepped forward and took my hand.

"Please I'm begging you, I didn't mean it."

I dropped his hand and breathed in.

"Luke, so your admitting you said something?"

I raised my eyebrows.

His head dropped and his shoulders sagged.

"Yes...but again I was drunk. Then when we hung out, i saw you as you. And I like talking to you, hanging out with you. And I knew that what I said when I was drunk, it was all a lie. I was lying to myself."

His words settled in and I smiled slightly. Luke smiled back.

Later on the night after I had dinner and had finish Teen Wolf's daily episode, I turned to mum.

"Can I have tomorrow off?" I asked.

Mum furrowed her eyebrows and glanced at me.

"Why, Zoe?"

I sat up and switched off the TV.

"Well my friends..Luke and Calum. Their moving to Sydney tomorrow."

Mum was quiet for a long while.

"But you can still say goodbye and go to school?"

"Mum if I go to school, I won't be able to say goodbye."

She rose from her chair and took her glasses off, running her eyes.

"Look, you can take tomorrow off."

I braced myself to hug her and thank her but she put a finger up.

"Under one condition."

I took a step back.

"What?"

"You tell me what happened between you and the English teacher."

The next day, I woke up really early and sent Calum a message saying that they need to not leave before I get there.

I slipped into shorts and a tank top, lacing up my converses as fast as I could.

I slid my black denim jacket over my shoulders and headed outside.

When I parked just outside of Calum's house, Luke was there.

His car was parked on the street but Calum and him were packing stuff in the back of Cal's car.

I got out and swung my keys as they turned around.

"Hey," I smiled.

They both returned 'heys' as Calum shut the boot door.

I gulped down sadness but grinned at them anyway.

"I'm just gonna go get some stuff before we leave okay?" Calum went inside.

Luke turned to me and slid his hands into his jean pockets.

"So, today's the day."

"Yeah, it is."

My voice was too breathy.

"Look, Zoe...we're all cool with this right?"

His blue eyes stared into mine.

"Of course Luke! Your gonna do great things."

My grin spread as he reached forward and hugged me.

I hugged him back, and in that moment, it was the world

While I wrote this I watch the 5SOS movie & it's so freaking good! I legit started crying when Michael's accident show 😥 and this chapter's ending made me sad too :( But hey whatever! I'm feeling life right now because it's coming to the end of the 5sos movie & it's like doing that motivating parts and speeches omg I'm weird
