Chapter 1
Silence. That's all anyone has heard since the apocalypse. Well, anyone who is still human. Military planes hover above in the sky, every now and then, but it still will never be the same, No more movie nights, no more school, no more family. Nothing will ever be the same again. Even if somehow, this nightmare of an experience ends, I will never be able to get this traumatizing experience out of my head, or get it out of my heart. It was just me, and my six friends, Jackie, Jessie, Sophie, Abby, Enrique, and Faith. We have fought together, and survived together.I'm hoping that my parents and sister are still alive, the last I remember is them running while I get lost in a sea of people trying to escape and not get infected. , It would be too dangerous to to try and find them, when the walkers are surrounding our fence. I was thinking about when it first started, which was about a year ago, when suddenly, someone tapped me on the shoulder. I jump, startled by the interruption.. Thank god it was just Jessie.
"Jess, you scared the living hell out of me!" I yelled.
"Sorry! I just came to tell you that dinner is ready, don't get all jumpy gosh!!" She told me. Jess had a dark gray beanie lay on top of her curly vibrant blue hair. She never took that thing off. I take in her appearance, trying not to cringe at the dark circles that lay under her chocolate brown eyes. Her hands had black fingerless sleeves, them going up the elbows. Her attire isn't what you would expect from such a bubbly person. Her attire consisted of a grey crop top, ripped high waisted shorts, black kitty stockings, with a jacket wrapped around her waist. She had high heeled platform boots on and her makeup was simple. Her brown eyes seeping into my own I see an emotion that I couldn't quite decipher. I told her not to do that, because I am always paranoid that it is a walker or an opposing team. Yup, we have fought both walkers, and people. Walking inside our regular sized RV, I sit down and eat dinner with my friends. Jess Kept on shooting me looks every five seconds. Jackie noticed, and was starting to get annoyed.
"Knock it off!. I know what your thinking. We can only hope that this ends." She said. I looked at her and rolled my eyes. "You say that all the time. Nothing is going to change! We are going to live like this for the rest of our freaking lives!" I defend my friend as tears prick the corner of my eyes and I start to cry, a sob escaping my lips, I ran into my room, flopped onto my bed, and bawled into my pillow. Then, I heard a knock at the door. I shouted from my pillow, "What?!" Sophie walked in anyway, along with Jess, Abby, Faith and Jackie. They all sat onto my old bed, crowding around my small frame. It was silent until Jackie spoke up. "I'm sorry." her voice only a whisper. I just stare at her. "Guys." Jess suddenly spoke up, everyone looking in her direction. A worried expression was plastered on her face, that emotion swimming in her eyes again. We all pass puzzled looks to her as she just stares at her hands that lay on her lap. "I saw something today." "What did you see?" Sophie asks. "It wasn't normal." She says, practically stating the obvious. "Nothing's n-" She cuts me off before I could even finish my sentence. "No you don't get it!" She screams causing everyone to jump, and her flinch, considering her past I'm not surprised she did so. "It wasn't a walker! I-i-it was something else! It tr-t-t-t-tried to-t-to-to-to...." She couldn't finish her screaming as the tears finally started to leak, rolling down her cheeks. Sophie gets up and wraps her thin arms around Jess's tall frame. Jess then falls to her knees bringing Sophie down with her, surprising us all. Before I could get up to comfort my sobbing friend, she sputters out something that I am so so afraid of. "It's back."
