24. Motion Sickness (Cristiano Ronaldo)

"Adeline?" A vague voice came to me. Slowly blinking my eyes open, a blinding white light was shown before me. I squinted in annoyance. Damn white. My head felt dizzy, and I was generally feeling weak. I hadn't eaten in awhile.

"God?" I answered to the mysterious voice that greeted me as I woke up. My vision wouldn't focus. Was that beeping?

"No. It's Cristiano." Cristiano's familiar self came to my view. He blocked the obnoxious light, and I was thankful. Under his eyes were bags, and I could tell he hadn't gotten any sleep at all.

"Am I dreaming?" I groaned in pain as I adjusted myself a bit on the bed. Lifting my hand and resting it on his cheek, I realized I wasn't at all. This was real.

"No." He softly replied with a small smile on his face. Giving him a weak smile, I looked around as much of the room as I could. I was in a hospital. Which explained the annoying beeping. It was my heartbeat. "God, I thought I lost you." He brushed some hair out of my face gently.

Cristiano's face leaned in closer to mine. He hesitated just a few centimeters from my face, his eyes were closed as he brushed his lips against mine lightly. Closing my own eyes, I filled in that tiny gap between us, locking lips. Gosh, how I missed him. My heart rate accelerated as we continued kissing, causing the machine to go off, but we ignored it. The mood was killed when the doctor and two nurses busted through the doors.

"Miss Ackers, if kissing Mister Ronaldo effects you in that way, I suggest you refrain yourself from kissing anymore in the hospital. Heart rates like that usually mean someone is having either a heart attack or a panic attack." Dr. Doctor informed me. Blushing a scarlet red, I grabbed a handful of Cristiano's shirt, pulling it to cover my face. He chuckled kissing my forehead.

After Dr. Doctor gave me a medical check, or analysis, (whatever), he said I was okay. Though, I would have a little bruising around my stomach, but other than that I was fine. They just wanted to keep me over night just in case. Which I was actually all for it, Cris didn't seem to mind either. Once Dr. Doctor left the two nurses, Cristiano's lips were against mine almost immediately. I smiled into the kiss, before pulling apart. I didn't want to cause another false heart attack or whatever.

"You won't lose me." I smiled to him, replying to what he had said to me earlier. He rolled his eyes before nodding his head. Cris explained to me what had happened when he found me, how he nearly beat he guy to death, and how I was in a miniature coma for what seemed like months to him. (In reality it was around twenty to thirty hours.) Thankfully, the creeper was getting prosecuted, so I had to go on trial by next week. "It's not your fault, so please stop your crying now."

"I'm not crying." Cris simply stated, a little confused by what I had said to him.

"Oh, I was reciting some lyrics from New Found Glory, ahaha..." I laughed nervously at him. He smiled at me, taking a seat next to me on the bed. We cuddled for what seemed liked forever. Not tone cliché but I really did want to stay like this forever. Being in his arms, not bed ridden in the hospital.

"I'm throwing you a birthday party this weekend Adeline." Cristiano nuzzled his head against my, playing with my fingers in boredom.

"No you don't have to!"

"You spent your birthday in a freak's basement."

"So? I got my wish."

"Which was?"

"If I tell you, it would stop."

"What would?"

"The birthday magic!" I exclaimed incredulously to him. He had a confused look on his face, and I realized I had to explain to him what I meant. I had told him when I was a young girl, my Mom would tell me that if I made a birthday wish, I can't tell anyone or it won't come true. And if it had really came true and someone asked me what it was, and I told them, that certain wish would go away.

My wish most definitely came true.

"Was it a good wish?" Cris continued to ask on. Rolling my eyes at him, I nodded my head. "About me?" Chewing on my bottom lip, I also nodded to that. "Yay."

"Don't worry about it Cris! I'm with you in spirit!" I assured Cristiano through the phone as I was wheeled out of my room.

Cristiano stayed with me until visiting hours ended, which was around nine. Sleeping alone without him was terrible. Even though I was dead tired from previous events, and I was in dire need of sleep, I couldn't get any. From nine to twelve I was tossing and turning in the hospital bed. It just wasn't the same without him. I had to face the fact he was like my sleeping pill. (Not even the amount of pillows that surrounded me could compare to his snuggleness.)

"Yeah I can feel you right next to me." Cris replied with some form of enthusiasm. I appreciated the effort to try and sound cheerful. He was still a little bummed out that I couldn't go watch the game front row. It bummed me out too.

"Awe, sound happier please?" I practically begged as rolled into the elevator doors. Covering the mouthpiece, I hoped he didn't hear the be ding.

"I just hoped you could-"

"Come watch in front." He and I said at the same time, me finishing his sentence.

"I know." I quietly replied to him.

What he didn't know was that I demanded to get an early release from the hospital, just to get to the game. That was my big surprise for him. Nobody knew this but myself actually. Which meant I was gonna have to get home, and to the game in a short amount of time if I wanted to catch the beginning of it.

"Good luck okay? I'll be watching you." I smiled, even though couldn't see it.

"Okay, bye Adeline."

"Bye Cristiano."
