17. Motion Sickness (Cristiano Ronaldo)
The New York premier of Inception went just as smoothly as it did in L.A., only this time I hadn't brought Adam along with me. And when the premier was over, I was finally able to relax.
But only for a little bit.
Just a few days after the premier, a.k.a. today, would be Adele's 20th birthday party. No matter how awkward it's been, what kind of a sister would I be if I hasn't throw her a surprise birthday party? I'll tell you what kind, the bitchy kind.
When I finished the decorations, with the help of Fernando, Cristiano, Joseph, and Adam, (Who seemed to not care that he ended up having to take another bath because of all the icing he put on himself.<3), the others I invited started pouring in. Fernando and I played rock, paper, scissors to see who was going to call her, and I won. It took much loads of persuading, but I finally got her to give in.
The second we heard a knock at the door, I shushed everyone up, and told them to hide. Thankfully, Adam had fallen asleep so he wouldn't be making any noise. I silently clapped my hands, excited for her, as I tip toed to the door. First, I checked to see if it really was her through the peephole, and opened it the second I saw her face. It wasn't the face I expected it was sort of irritated looking.
"Adeline, I think you need to back off from Fernando." Adele blandly said to me as she strutted through the door. The smile from my face wiped off, and I was easily offended.
"I hadn't seen that guy in days Adele, what do you mean back off?" I tried to keep my voice as cheery as can be. Which wasn't even much. Saying I hadn't seen him in days was the truth, we had only seen each-other again this morning when he came by to do decorations.
"You're with him too much-" She began. But I cut her off in mid sentence. Was this what the cold shoulders were about, and how we would get awkward silences every now and then? Over a guy!
"He's the father of my baby!" I argued back, keeping my voice low, so I wouldn't wake up Adam. You'd think she'd understand that he is the father of my baby, and he and I had every right to hang out as much as we wanted. It wasn't like she owned him.
"I frankly don't care." Adele shrugged her shoulders. This was so...stupid!
"Okay, just because I'm spending time with him, doesn't mean shit. I'm in love with Cristiano, not Fernando. No matter how many times I'm going to hang out with Nando, I doubt it'll change any feelings I have for Cristiano!"
"Oh just stop lying." She scoffed. "You've always wanted him from the start! You just missed your golden opportunity when I stepped into his life."
I shook my head disapprovingly, deciding to leave her be. There was absolutely no point in arguing anymore. As I've said before, I grew up with her, and once she's so set on something she'll need solid proof to prove herself wrong. Of course, she won't even bother wanting to know the truth. I pulled out her preset from behind my back, and shoved it to her chest.
"Happy birthday." I said without any emotion, before grabbing my coat from the rack and stomping out. I could faintly hear the awkward, and slow 'surprise' from the family and friends I had invited to the party.
Thanks Adele. Thank you for accusing me like that in front of Fernando, Mom, Dad, Cristiano, Joseph, our grandparents, and several of your model friends. Thanks a lot.

"Hey." I heard a voice say to me quietly. Ignoring them, I turned over to the side, making my bent knees hit the wall of the building. After leaving my own apartment, the tears started flooding out, and I couldn't help but stop short in the middle of the staircase, sobbing. The sounds of my cries echoed through the staircase, it was no wonder he found me so easily.
"Go away." I muttered in a shaky voice, wiping the tears from my eyes down to my cheek with my, already soaked, hand. The idea of my sister hating me just cut me deep. Never had I seen her like this before.
"No I will not." Cris said as he took a seat next to me. His stretched his legs out, so he was taking like five sets of stairs as he scooted closer. He encircled his arm around my thin waist, and brought me closer to him. His head laid on my shoulder, and I turned over to hug his torso. He adjusted to my comfort, as I moved my head to rest on his chest, and his head laid on top of mine. "Don't cry." Cris' hand stroked my hair, trying to soothe me.
"How can I not?" I sobbed some more, biting my lip in hopes to suppress the sounds of my cries. "Imagine if your sister hated you!"
"She doesn't hate you. She's just jealous."
"Of what!" I cried out. "She's the successful one! She got the straight A's, she's going to college! How could she be jealous of...me? Because I fucked up one night and got pregnant when I was piss drunk with a guy? Is that why!" New tears started pouring down my face, and soaking his shirt.
We were quiet for a few moments, just staying in place. None of us said another word. Slowly, I began to calm down, and once I did, I felt the slightest better. I moved my position, so I was sitting on his lap, facing sideways. In a few short minutes after that, we heard indistinctive arguing coming from the top of the stairs. As they came down closer, I could make out the words, and the two people arguing. Fernando, and Adele.
"So what you're just going to take the presents and leave!" Fernando's anger rose as he followed my sister down the stairs.
"What do you think! You see me, don't you!" Adele's voice was just as angry as I heard her heels click down the stairs.
"This is so typical of you! You're so materialistic!" He said to her. My heart throbbed, and heaved as I heard them fighting. This was all because of me. I shifted my body, to bury my head in the crook of Cristiano's neck. I breathed in his musky cologne as I tried to control my breathing.
"It'll be fine." He whispered, as he started to stroke my hair once more. I meekly nodded, not entirely believing him. But something in his voice comforted me when he said so.
"I am not!" She argued, stomping down. Her footsteps were getting louder, and louder. Which only meant she was getting closer to us.
"You maxed out MY," Nando emphasized the last word. "credit card for shoes. Shoes!"
"They were cute!" She argued back. I heard them continue to argue, as they made their way downstairs. "Hmph." I heard her, when she stood near us. "I hope you have fun with that little slut. She's gonna up and leave you like she does with every other guy!"
I squeezed my eyes shut, trying to lock out those hurtful words. Sighing in relief, I relaxed the slightest bit when I heard her walking away once more.
"Adeline is not a slut!" Cristiano stood up for me, placing me aside. "She's everything but that! Adeline Anette Ackers is a beautiful, intelligent, selfless woman! She put her heart, and soul into making sure you had a great party, and this is how you repay her? You bitch about how Fernando and Adeline, two people who share a child, your nephew, hangout. Is that really mature of you? You're twenty. Act the age." Cristiano finished. "Let's go." He muttered to me, helping me up. I gave him a small smile in appreciation for standing up to me.
"Thank you." I whispered to him. He smiled back, kissing my forehead. No one had ever stood up for me like that. We left her bewildered self alone, as we made it back up to my room.
I was truly lucky.

So I'm somewhat stuck as of now.
But they're moving in the next chapter. As with Adam being with Fernando for two months.
Oh and she's going to be going to Real Madrid's games, and stuff like that.
...Yeah truth be told, I don't watch soccer. I just like the players, ahah....hah. That's my dirty little secret!
Anyway, thank you for reading, good day.
