Chapter 18

Hinata's POV:-

I enter the classroom and see everyone seated in their usual places waiting for me.

I see him looking at me, smiling and waving. I notice his hand bandaged. I wanted so badly, to go and talk to him. But I had to stay away from him. His life became complicated because of me and this fake relationship thing. I know that Toneri disliked him even before that but it is better this way.

As much as I want to be selfish and keep him to myself, even as a fake boyfriend, I can't. This way he can date a girl he loves instead of being stuck with me in this fake relationship.

I ignore them and move to a different seat as away from him as possible and start reading a book.

Naruto's POV:-

I frown when Hinata moves away and sits down on a different seat.

According to my Plan 'A', I could convince her to talk to me easily by endlessly pestering her to talk but for that, she has to sit beside me and not away from me, ignoring me completely.

"What will you do now?" Sasuke asks with an amused expression on his face.

"A smart person always has a Plan 'B'." I reply with a smirk.

"I see." He nods. "But you are the dumbest, so Shika, what is Plan 'B'?" Sasuke asks him with a smirk.

"You....!" I yell and take a step forward to hit him with my bandaged hand. I wink at him signalling him to stay calm and that this is all an act. He nods and my fist makes contact with his face. I don't hit him by much force but I yelp in pain clutching my bandaged hand."

From the corner of my eyes I see
Hinata getting up from her seat and I smile. But my joy is short lived as she stops and sits back down because of two voices.

"What happened....?! Are you okay??!" Sakura and Ino ask at the same time and I glare at them. They look confused and Sasuke subtly points to Hinata. Their eyes grew wide as they seem to understand and give me an apologetic look.

I huffed in annoyance and walk out of the class, wondering what to do to make Hinata talk to me.

I collide with a guy suddenly and mutter a small sorry and start to walk away when he stops me. I look back at him and he frowns.

"You are the guy who punched Toneri yesterday?" He mutters with a scowl as he realizes who I am.

I raise my brows.
"Who is he to you?" I ask not really caring for the answer but I ask him anyway.

"My friend! I will not let you off easily. Remember my face." he says to me face, threatening me.

This guy was starting to tick me off. I wanted to say 'get lost' but an idea starts forming in my mind. I take a step towards him, trying to intimidate him.

"What will you do, huh? Go and tell Baa-chan? Or hit me again? Or will you go to the school board?" I say pretending to be pissed off.

"You...." He starts and I cut him off.

"Oh come on! Get lost and go tell your 'leader' about this. I am sure you are just another one of his little puppies." I end with a convincing chuckle.

I dismiss him by the wave of my hand and walk back in to our classroom. I go back to my seat smiling and everyone gives me a puzzled look. I glance around to catch Hinata stealing a glance on me. She quickly looks away and tenses. I notice her cheeks red from the embarrassment of being caught and I chuckle quietly to myself.

Later that day I tell my friends about my plan and they look at me, skeptical.

"What if he tells Toneri about the whole thing and he smells something fishy." Ino asks
