Chapter 38

Naruto's POV:-

"When I started my high school in New York, I made a friend on the first day. His name was Gavin.

Over time, we became really good friends and he fell for a girl, Anna.

Gavin.....was not the wealthiest kid. He was an orphan. He worked two jobs to pay his tuition. He was a very bright student and a good guy. Anna, on the other hand was the daughter of a wealthy businessman. Her marriage was already arranged with a jock in the same school, Noah.

Well despite their situations, they fell for each other. They had a secret relationship. Only I was aware of their relationship.

A time came when Noah suspected their relation and Gavin started getting bullied.

He was almost beaten to death by Noah and his friends.

But none of this stopped them from continuing their love. It grew to level where they lost their virginity to each other.

They had used protection but somehow Anna got pregnant. They decided to elope and get married but I thought it was a ridiculous plan. They had no money and Gavin refused to take my help.

I convinced them to let me speak to Anna's father and convince him to accept their relationship.

I talked to him and it seemed like everything would be okay. Her father accepted their relationship and asked them to complete their studies.

We celebrated that night but it was all a mirage.

The next morning came the news that Gavin killed himself by jumping off in front of a car. It was all recorded. Concrete proof. The police refused to believe us.

We knew Noah and her father were behind this. They actually confessed it.

I was gonna take matters in my own hands bit Anna made me swore that I would do no such thing and told me to change schools.

Long story short Gavin was killed because of my stupidity and I made that child fatherless. Anna was disowned by her family. So I decided to support her and act as a guardian to little Kevin. It is the least I could do after everything she went through because of me."

"Why didn't you tell Hinata. I am sure she would understand." Gaara said.

"I don't want her to think of me as a...... murderer."

"What?! You are not responsible for his death."

"If I had not told her father about...."

"Oh shut it! How dumb can you be Naruto?" Sasuke asks.

"Did Anna ever blame you for Gavin's death?"

"No but..."

"Did you leave her and her unborn child to fend for themselves?"

"No but..."

"If you had known what was gonna happen, would you tell her father all that?"

"No! Of course not!"

"There's your answer. If anything, Hinata would be proud of you for the person you have become."

"I- I..... I am a moron!" I said closing my eyes, finally getting it.

"Yes. You are. Now go and tell her everything. Tell her you are a moron but you are her moron."

I blink at how romantic that is. Sasuke has been learning from the best. I am proud of my pupil.

"Shut up Naruto." He says massaging his temples.

I said it out loud.

I nod as I start running to my car.

"And take a bath before you go!"

I laugh as I rush to my car.

"I am coming Hinata. Just...wait a little longer"

I had a bath, put on some fresh clothes, picked up some flowers and I am driving to her house.

I can feel my heart beating or rather thumping as I drive to her house.

I walk to her front door and ring the bell.

A few minutes later the door opens and an old man asks what I want.

"Is Hinata here?" I ask taking deep breaths.

"No. She went away with her family."

The flowers slip from my hand and hit the ground.

"What?! Where? There has to be a mistake. Is Hinata Hyunga here?"

"No boy. She went away with brother, father and sister."

"For how long?" I ask hopeful.

"Forever!" He says and closes the door on my face.
