14-year-old Miranda walked along the trail to the mountain with her family which consisted of her brother and her mother. She walked quietly, but with a smile. Around her body was a large winter jacket that came down to her thighs. In it were various pockets containing many items. She was snuggled in it, content. However, she wasn't paying attention to where she was going, and she slipped, and fell. Her heart sank. She wanted to call out, but she knew she would die anyway. She cried silently as she fell, she clenched her eyes shut until she hit the ground, hard, knocking the wind from her.
She gasped and coughed, she stood quietly, using her inhaler to help for air into her. Eventually, she could breathe again.
Miranda took a moment to examine her surroundings, and she looked up.
"Mom...bubby...." she whispered, "...."
She sighed and looked down.
She pulled out her phone, no reception.
She shoved it back into her pocket and walked on, hands still in her pockets.
"Howdy!"
Miranda nearly jumped out of her skin, but she calmed and looked at the flower in front of her.
"..."
"I'm flowey the flower!"
"Miranda."
Flowey stopped, he remembered someone from a timeline, but then shook it off, "you must be new to the underground!"
She examined him. Miranda wasn't scared, scratch that, she was terrified. However she didn't want to show her weakness. First she wanted to see if this....thing...was a threat.
"What of it."
"Someone ought to show you how things work around here!"
She looked left and right, hoping someone else could do that, but then she looked back to flowey.
"I guess little ol me will have to d-"
"What are you planning." Miranda didn't ask, she DEMANDED.
"....Nothing!" he began to sweat.
She clenched her teeth and growled, "you're planning some shit and I know it.."
"No I'm not!"
"Go. Get away from me, now. I've already got shit to deal with," she raised her voice to a loud yell, "I DONT NEED YOU COMIN UP IN HERE AND MAKING IT WORSE!! SCRAM BEFORE I TEAR YOUR DAMN BODY IN HALF!!!!"
Flowey was shocked. This is was something Chara would say, but this girl was much larger and louder than her. She was 5'7" and towered over him with her dark, patronizing eyes. She emitted some kind of aura that told everyone to 'fuck off'. He wanted her soul, and he was determined to get it.
"Really, Miranda, I'm not planning anything!"
She shoved her hand into her outer left pocket. Before flowey could react, his eyes and mouth burned in a horrible pain.
He was rendered blind.
Flowey felt something grab his stem just below his head, her thumb slightly digging into where his head and stem connected.
Miranda leaned close, and whispered.
"I'm gonna let go, and I'm gonna count to three. If you don't leave before I get to 3...you're gonna die. And I'm not joking."
She let go and his sight slowly returned.
"One."
Flowey suddenly registered what was going on.
"Two."
He blinked and quickly burrowed as she was about to say three.
Miranda stood, shoving her pocket knife and pepper spray back into her pocket.
She looked up, hands still in her pockets, clenched around the items.
"What a....? Oh...hello..."
Toriel was standing there, and she was very confused that flowey wasn't there.
"...." Miranda nodded in greeting.
"I'm Toriel! Guardian of the Ruins!"
Miranda looked away, but then looked back, and slowly approached.
"I'm Miranda."
