Miranda walked out, quickly noticing how cold it was, she removed gloves and a hat from her pocket. She put them on, zipped up her jacket, put her hood on, and continued. She kept walking until she tripped on a root.
"SONOFABITCH!"
She held her ankle, and groaned. After a moment, then she stood.
She looked back at the root, and spit on it, then walked away. A few moments later, she heard a snap. She turned around and it was broken. She quickly whipped out her pocket knife and stood there. Waiting. When nothing moved, she continued, knife still in her hand.
"Human."
Miranda swung around and beat whomever it was to the ground, pounding their face in.
"HUMAN!! HUMAN!!"
Miranda blinked and stopped.
"Human? Are you alright?"
Miranda turned around and saw a skeleton standing there, just fine. Was she going crazy?
"H-Hi..."
"Phew, alright! glad you're ok! Wanna shake my hand?"
"N-No thanks...are you....the voice from the door?"
"I sure am. Are you the one who killed toriel?"
"On accident....yes..."
"I can kinda tell...you're...uh....covered in monster dust."
Miranda looked down, "So I am."
"I'm sans."
"Miranda."
"I'm supposed to be on the hunt for humans. But I don't really care about capturing anybody. Now my brother, he's a different story. He's a human huntin fanatic!"
Miranda's eyes widened.
Sans held up his hands and spoke rapidly, "b-but you don't have to worry! Y-Ya see, he's harmless!"
Miranda narrowed her eyes at him, and slowly put her weapon away.
"Fun fact, did you know that some humans can break bones using their teeth and hands? They LOVE to use that ability on skeletons who are lying to them. Just wanted to throw that out there."
"Well I'm not lyin." Sans narrowed his eyes as well.
"What did you say your name was again?"
"Miranda."
Sans stopped and mumbled to himself, "Randa-panda..."
"Hm?"
"Oh...nothing. I used to know someone with that name." Sans sighed.
Miranda perked up as she heard footsteps coming closer.
"My brother's coming! Through this gate thing."
They went through.
"Go ahead and hide behind that conveniently-shaped lamp!"
Miranda did so, cautiously.
Miranda absentmindedly listened to the quarrel.
"I got a TON of work done today, a skele-TON!"
Miranda covered her mouth and giggled.
"You'll work yourself, DOWN TO THE BONE!"
She giggled again. She had to admit, Sans is pretty funny, but she wasn't easily played for a fool. She was going to be cautious. She peeked around the lamp. Her eyes widened. A skeleton as tall as she was stood there, head held high and proud. Talking loud and without shame. He wore his pride on his sleeve, as if nothing could get to him. Miranda found this both annoying and intimidating.
(The thing about me, Im a HUGE narcissist, and people who act like they are better than me annoy me. They also frighten me a bit. I have nothing against papyrus, I love him! But this is just how I'd react to someone like him if I had no prior knowledge.)
She sighed. He didn't seem like much of a threat though, mostly bark and no bite. And even if there WAS a bite, it'd probably be weak. After a while or so of watching him, Miranda got a feeling...in her chest. What was it? How to describe it...? No...could it be...? Was miranda....falling for him...? No! Of course not...she couldn't be...right?
